Default Whats the best bolt-on catback exhaust?

I am looking to get a full catback exhaust for my 06 tC and was looking for some input. What is the best quality for the money and also the ease of installation. Are there any out there that are complete bolt on that install right in to existing location of stock exhaust.

Thanks

The only one that is a good price is megan..

Some of the others like creative compacts & ZPI are nice systems but the price is much higher then megan.

Really nothing different between brands except sound. Although I believe the Magnaflow cat-back requires a cut, so that wouldn't make it a 'true bolt on' thing. Sounds good though.

Pretty much all of them have the same gains.... about 5whp.

Anything will work well as long as you get rid of that stock muffler. It's terrible.

I went with PrecisionMuffler's axle-back. Magnaflow muffler, and a bit quieter than other exhausts i've heard. Quite inexpensive. Crush-bent piping though, which will wad the panties of keyboard mechanics, but will still show very good results.

Keep in mind no muffler shop can "mandrel bend" pipes for you, so it's as good as any custom job.

right now i'm running a custom fabbed catback with 2 18" resonators welded into it. rasp is nearly eliminated (i have a mmw header) and it really isn't all that loud. i put the radio on 15 on the highway and the music comes through loud and clear with a very minimal drone from the back of the car.

not true.. i know of three muffler shops by my house that do them

and as far as best bolt on goes, i would say either of the megans for a low budget..but these arent cat backs, these are s-pipe backs and completely eliminate your cat...

then you have the draxas exhaust system which can be had w/spipe or without and it comes with a hi-flo cat, resonator, muffler, and tip.. its about 600 w.o s-pipe, 700 with it.. good exhaust imo

then there is the ZPI, also s-pipe back..no cat, no resonator, just a muffler and tip.. for 500, i dont like this one because its really loud, and will GET VERY RASPY if you get a header

then to stick with your title..these are the "cat" backs availible that i know of:

-ARK Racing, two version..N2 and D2 or something, one is a canister muffler..one is a transversely mounted oval muffler. both are nice and are in the range of 500-700/
-creative compacts.. you can do all sorts of options with this exhuast, fully loaded will run you about.. 600 or so,
-magnaflow-yields about 6hp, not the best on the market for performance, but increases MPG and is quiet
-and i know there are tons more, but i got tired now...so if you need any more help, post up

yeah i know of a few shops in so cal that mandrel bend pipes so the above comment is untrue. To answer the heading question though, IMO, the magnaflow is probably the best cat-back system...like black says, not the best performance, but it gives a little and it sounds clean.

Megan is the cheapest and performs well. I got the Megan Spipe and Exhaust for $400 shipped..no other company comes close to that price.

So which gives the most gains since you said magnaflow isn't the best performing. I don't plan on ever getting a header, just sticking with CAI and exhaust.
