if a 2006 2 door hatchback mazda 3 raced a 2005 tC and they both were stock who would win? and why?

 

2005 tC because there is no such thing as a two door Mazda 3.

 

manual tC vs. manual 3 = close race
manual tC vs. auto 3 = TC
auto tC vs. auto 3 = close but tC will likely win
auto tC vs. manual 3 = likely 3

im going to say the tC will win every time except if the tC is an auto, and the Mazda is a stick. Those 3's just are not as fast as the tC. I have an auto and i have raced my friend who has an auto3 and it wasnt close at all. had around 1 and 1/2 car lengths by the middle of 2nd gear.

Assuming the drivers have equal skill, I'd say the tC. The 3 has a slightly longer powerband but we have more ft/lb to make up for that. Not to mention our cars are geared lower. We'd have them off the line and then they may start catching up in the later gears. But my guess is that, unless you are doing an endless race, it won't be catching up fast enough to pass the tC by the end of the qt mile. If I remember right one site has the 3's qt mile at about .2 seconds behind the tC's.

But on a course the 3 would probably win.

 

road course or autox - the mazda would kill the tc... assuming the drivers are equal.

Float like a butterfly sting like a bee....mazda 3 can't beat tc...unless its a road course B.....

 

if both cars are bone stock and the drivers are fairly equally skilled I would think the tC would probably have a bit of an advantage.

 

With proper tuning9suspension).... the TC would win on a road course as well.... assuming someone knew how to drive.

but looking at the 1/4 mile times for both posted by car n driver the tC would win with a 15.4 over the 16.0 that the 3 does but it does depend on the driver

 

I raced my friends mazda 3 im auto and he was in tiptronic i only had the k&n intake and i have 18 inch rims.. But i raced him like 4 times from a dead start and off the line he toook me by like a half a car after that the tc kicks in and i took him by like 2 car lengths .. WE only went up to like 60mph. and the mazda 3 was stock with 1 passanger and i also had 1 passanger~!

 

3's do got some speed at high end... if it was 1/4 mile race its a tie, pending on the driver. if it was a 1/8 mile possible the tC can take it...
