Default Wingman to a clutch/flywheel job- few questions, thanks!

Hey guys.

I am new to this board, I have some shade of automotive experience- I've done motor swaps on a few ford vehicles.. but I am just asking what to expect on this platform.

I know my friend has a username on this board, but I forget what it is. His plans are to go TRD/9.5 PSI IIRC, so he bought a new clutch to hold. I think the flywheel is ZPI and the clutch maybe ZPI also. It is a full face clutch, so I don't think it'll be an on/off switch. I advised him against a puck style clutch.

Anyways, on to the questions-
1) The clutch kit came with a throwout bearing- when I did my motor swap in my car I job bought a new slave cylinder so I wouldn't have to worry about pressing it in. What do you guys typically do with the new TOB?

2) I'd much prefer to take the engine out of the top of the car and not worry about getting under there and dropping the subframe cradle just so only the transmission has to come out- for those that have done it, what do you suggest?

3) Where's a good place to get a [hopefully] free repair manual?

Thank you so much.

changing the clutch takes time. little more time if you pull the motor. we were able to pull my buddies clutch without removing the subframe. we removed 3 of 4 motor mounts and torqued the engine towards the passenger side. i then reached up and pulled it off. its not heavy at all.

great, thanks. My transmission weighs around 190 pound(ish) so I couldn't do it myself. Did you do the trans drop on jackstands?

your transmission on what? not the tc. we had his tc on a lift and i reached up , manuevered it around to get it off the block then i lowered it down. no stand. we had the motor on a stand though for better leverage. the tcs transmission is at most 40 pounds.
