Default ZPIracing Gauge cluster ideas........

Joey here at the shop has been playing around with some ideas for mounting gauges in the tC. We could very easily mass produce either of these so we thought we would get some input.

Let us know what you think.

NOTE: These are prototype work in progress we would clean them up on items we resale. These only dictate as to what they could look like.

This one would replace the air vent next to the driver door. A whole new vent would be included.

This would replace the cluster, we would probably do the gauges on the side in the back on the panel so they would have a more stock looking appearance and utilize the shade of the cluster for easy day driving. We could do up to two gauges on each side.

I plan on replacing the middle air vents with a 3 panel cluster made to look like the gauge cluster for the speedo, etc.

Well, if you did just the boost gauge on the drivers side, the driver still gets HVAC from the center vents. You could also have the existing duct work dump down in to the foot well.

Good to see ingenuity still at work!

However, it gets too humid and hot here in Florida for me to sacrafice my air vents...lol. What about a picky-back cluster that rides on top the drivers dash?
I am also still a fan of the ole' school pillar pod. Just my silly 2 cents

Its just as hot, if not hotter at times here in MD, so I wouldn't even want to consider anything that messed with the vents. They are neat designs though.

you know heres a question. I have the SRS side airbags and so, if I were to say mount something like that, wouldn't the bag deploy if I tampered with that section of the car?

no the steering wheel is out far enough that this would not affect it.

We can always cut vents above and below the gauge for you guys who can not live with out A/C. If you block one vent the others will blow harder.

We were just playing with some ideas, we do not have the ability to mold plastic so we could not make a pillar pod. They are for mustang drivers anyway we need something original.

Thanks for the input we not sure if we will go forward with it but thought we post some pics

gauge pillars are too much. figure something out under the radio. or somewhere thats not removing air conditioning vent functionality haha. it's too damn hot down here for me to even begin to ever consider that.

i think this is a good idea. fill the cubby hole and have the gauges angled so all you have to do is glance down

I really like the gauge in the air vent. I think it is very original and it is very clean looking as well. I think it goes along with the whole meaning of scion, originality. Dare to be different, in most tC's the driver side air vent moves on its own and doesnt work anyway. I think ZPI has a great idea here. I know I am going to want this.

what do u mean you get pulled over? you get pulled over because of the attention that they draw, or because their illegal? that sounds stupid to me.

oh, and i too would by a 2 gauge pod design for the cubby hole, but would like to see em' pointed to the driver kinda like in my buddys 350z. if zpi dont make em then ill have the custom shop down the street do them for me.

I agree, cubby hole gauges would be sweet.
