2.25" axleback on turbo car, bad?
So I have a stage 0 and a zpi 2.5 s pipe and mid pipe with a tsudo axleback. The fitment on the axleback sucks and it's crazy loud. How bad would it be if I went with something oem fit like the megan or trd, which happen to be 2.25. Would they be quieter and how bad would it hurt my performance? I plan on going up to 8-10 psi and I only want about 250 at the wheels.
Thanks
Thanks
Well I have the Greddy EVO2 axleback and a 2.25" straight pipe where my resonator used to be and I don't see nothin wrong with it. Sounds really nice too. Eventually I might get 2.5 or 3" all the way through but that's for bigger HP gains. If ur only lookin to get 250WHP then save some cash and just use ur OEM fitment. I'm currently @ 272WHP with 2.25" pipes. And also, I'm sure if ur tuner knows what he's doing, u can EASILY get 250WHP with 8 psi, no need to up it to 10 lbs, that's just more wear on ur engine u don't need.
you don't want to up the boost on a stage zero without an intercooler and engine management.
anyway, with a turbocharger you want the exhaust to be as unrestrictive as possible because the turbocharger itself is a restriction on the exhaust system.
a really good exhaust with oem fitment is the dezod s-pipe back 2.5 in exhaust, and you can get them with a second sound chamber to quiet it down, and they are very subtle looking.

You get 2 HP when you're N/A. I have a full catless exhaust (2.5" ZPI Spipe, Midpipe from the Tsudo N1 catback, TRD Axelback). By the time the exhaust gets back to the axelback section there really isn't much backpressure - the main things that cause the backpressure would be the Cats. TRD axelback does flow better than the stock muffler.

also, if you increase the boost, you'll need bigger injectors too. or you'll lean out.

I like my piping, but I plan on this thing being a daily driver so I had a shop weld in a high flow car and a resonator. I'm getting 550's cause 440's are almost the same price.
Thanks
