Gear pulls that is...on a dyno...
I was just looking at a thread here and they were arguing back and forth as to which gear gives the most accurate horsepower. SO which should I do when I go get tuned next month...3rd or 4th?

All i saw from my dyno was that 4th gear gave higher numbers than 3rd gear....

Why 4th? I'm only asking because when I meet the dyno and show the numbers, I don't want the haters to start crying about it.

 

because if 4th gives higher numbers than 3rd like Yankee21 said then it gives a better reading of how much horsepower your car really has

 

I think I was watching that same thread where the guy had nearly 300hp on spray and everyone was criticizing him. If you estimate hp... people say they wanna see numbers...people post dyno sheet....and people want a video.... people post a video... and people say that the dyno wasn't working right.....

It doesn't seem like anyone can win.

 

oh man maybe that why my car (n/a) only made 144hp and 155tq... they had it in 3rd. so fourth really shows higher numbers?

 

4th because its almost a 1:1 ratio for your gears.

that's an area I gotta learn more about...ratio's and etc.

 

i had a whole reason why this was a bad idea and this post killed my reasoning.
