Default 4" Intake?

Anyone here running a 4" Intake?

Wanted to check if you ran into any issues with a 4" intake pipe and welded on MAF Flange using Emanage.

Have done many 4 inch intakes as all the man sized turbos use 4-5 inch inlets but I always use Hydra so no MAF. You won't likely be able to use the MAF in a 4 inch housing. That would be HUGE. Why not try doing a blow through setup on the cold pipe before the BOV. As long as it is 2.5 to 2.75 inches it should be fine. Just remember, the larger you go from stock the more it leans it out so it tends to cancel out the larger injector scaling when you do that. It is also not linear so pie r squared calculations to deduce area doesn't work perfectly.

Is there a benefit running 4" intake pipe on low to medium boost? Im running hydra and might be doing a CAI soon, was thinking if a 4" will do good

The only benefit is if you actually have a need for that kind of flow capability. The large the pipe, the slower the velocity for the same volume of air. Obviously a smaller pipe can only flow so much, so larger pipes become necessary as the CFM requirements increase. A large turbo with high boost would definitely benefit from a larger intake pipe and stand-alone EMS.

Do NOT run a 4" intake pipe and mount the stock MAF on it. You will have some driveability issues and it won't meter correctly.

Guru nailed it on this one.

My new turbo has a 4" inlet this is why I was asking. I plan on just putting a reducer on it but wanted to see if this was a possibility.

My car is using the black box and emanage w/pressure sensor
So the MAF is of little use this was also a thought I had

If I had a standalone I wouldnt even have an intake pipe but I am not there yet

depends on the setup but you still want an intake pipe so the air the turbo sucks will not be the hot air close to the hot engine/manifold, I was gonna just do a filter direct to the turbo but changed my mind.. but yeah with stock ecu still doing some of the fuel management, you still want the maf to function well..

threadjack, im preparing your package will ship today

couplers didnt fit.. apparently the MAF sensor from the greddy kit is 3.000001 inches and a coupler wont fit over it

im just gonna use the reducer until someone chimes in with putting the MAF in the charge pipe
