Default 65,000 miles and turbo kit!

I have now just reached 65,000 miles on my 05 tC and I am about to invest in a turbo kit! I have had no problems with the stock engine and i'm worried that it will not be able to handle the boost! I want it to still be a relaible car and daily driver! I mean it is a toyota product and ive heard that toyotas last forever if treated well! I know honda guys that have in excess of 100,000 miles on their stock engine and having no problems with their turbo! What do yall think?

actually, if you get a trd supercharger installed by a toyota/scion trd installer, then it will be warrantied for a year or 12,000 miles.

now as for the turbos, well, most good stage 1 kits properly installed and tuned don't seem to have too many problems.

Get a compression test done on your pistons - see if they hold up still. They should - it's toyota.

TRD Supercharger for '05's and '06 tC's is mad cheap right now - if you wanna save some money, go with that.

That being said... Turbos rule...

You should be fine.

I had 30k of turbo miles on my tC before it was parted out. It was raced well over 100 races, and driven from negative temperatures all the way to 120 degree AZ weather (91 octane).

A decent turbo kit, with a decent tune, and you will enjoy boost for quite some time.

I drove an 85 Camry well past 350,000 mi with no major unexpected repairs and out of all six toyotas I've owned I've never driven one less than almost 200k mi.

Go for it, if u know u haven't been beating the ish out of ur car for those 65k then u should have nothin to worry about. Toyota makes a very reliable motor, just make sure u get a pro to install it and not some joe shmucko...

Or if u wanna save money get the twin Turbonator kit, bolts on in seconds and increases HP by 83%

No seriously just get the turbo and have fun...

I got 85,000 miles on my 05. I just finished install on the SC. I'll let you know if the motor blows, but I'm not terribly worried.
