like i have been saying for years its not boost its temp baby all about temp say my 30r will flow very nice with some cold air where as a t3o4b will start to make tather hot air around 400hp my 30r will be right in the range where a turbo should be look at srt-4 stock turbo throwing out 20 pounds makes 300whp throw a 30r they are making the same power at 10-12 cooler denser air is all the rage you should know that lol

That's the point, the Air Temp will NOT be the same. Smaller turbos generate more heat for starters. And I've mentioned that it was more than just turbo size. People have added intercoolers (which obviously changes the piping), also some even put on injectors and think the Stock ECU can adjust for it. Adding an intercooler changes temps obviously as well.

Tire PSI has nothing to do with Turbo PSI...not a good comparison there. Again, you will not be pushing the same Temps.
I guess it's just the way I've seen it stated that I took issue with. Usually there is no mention of air temp, which is the only factor that can change the air volume at a given pressure. Honestly I didn't think there would be much air temp difference between say a T3-60 trim and a T04E 50 trim at 6psi. I assumed there wouldn't be a big temp difference until higher boost levels but I've been wrong before. Thanks for the info.

I suppose my unmanaged setup worked okay because it was a small trim T3/T04B with a small IC and only 6psi on stock exhaust. I never dynoed it but CXR did and only made 170whp (auto) at 5psi. I don't think the stock ECU is good for more than that and even then it's a potentially risky proposition.
