Default 87 users SPEAK UP!

OK! Who here has F.I. and so cheap to still use 87 octane???

Because I saw a probably non SL member "Car Max" tC S/C (I saw the engine bay since it's open and saw the S/C) at a gas station, I saw the guy (around his 20's with his GF) using the 87 nozzle at Chevron when I passed it, I went inside to pre-pay for my 91 octane gas for my 90 Corolla and the cashier dude told me not to touch anything higher than 87 or else your burning money (yeah, it's flammable man!) I just said OK...

How long will that tC last when he keeps using 87?

And really, does someone here with FI use 87? Fess up before it's too late!

its pretty stupid to put 91 in an n/a car with low compresssion like the tC.

the manufacturer knows a little bit about what they are doing, so if they recommend putting in 87, whats the point of going higher? your just wasting money, its not doing anything for you.. it does run cleaner, or smoother, or faster or half of the things people say.

Lol maybe if the guy is on another forum he would prolly post:
"I saw a guy in the gas station with a N/A aspirated 90 Corolla (I saw his engine bay since it was open, there was no turbo or supercharger) pumping 91 nozzle at chevron on his car.. what a waste, what do you guys think? "

And hey maybe the dude in the cashier told him the same thing, anything higher than 87 is burning money and then he took the advice Props to you, you're smarter!

you would get flammed as well for saying pointless, off the wall, and far fetched comments all the time.

I don't think his a Vegas or Nevada resident since I saw his "Car Max" plate and there was no sticker that is the standard for Nevada, I saw some bug wash at the front of his bumper, so they're probably on a road trip, so he may also be trying to cool his engine down by 10degrees while his filling up!

Anyway, I don't know if his an A/T because I only saw the S/C and OE heatshield under his blue tC's hood.

And as for me getting 91 for the AE92, that car somehow acts so weird and "chuggy" when I used 87, the previous owner (74 yrs old) took care of the engine and car real well, the 4A-FE runs awesomely good and the car is in mint condition with only 130K miles on it and paint is almost new, he even told me never to use 87 on it! (We changed the A/T tranny once, I somehow broke it manual shifting! ) And I have a few mods on it including KSport GT-PROs.

Mopeds need 92 octane or higher... So, yes! it's a must.

But, seriously do you have a moped???
