Default Advice please

The last time I ran my car my best pass was 13.7 @ 103 mph. most of the other passes were 14.0 - 14.2 @ 105. Now I plan to get the P-tuning turbo kit eventually. My question Is it really worth it to get it now. I am running on stock motor and I believe my times will not change that much. I don't want to spend 5k + on the kit exhaust and tuning to be .5 sec faster in the 1/4. Should I just build my motor and spray a larger shot?

as me n u both know there are times when u wanna let it rip but u realise your bottle is closed...and there are times where its empty, and the cost of filling it plus the cost of filling your gas... this is the reason i went back to boost instead of the 75 shot i had..

dont get me wrong i loved spray it was nice instant power but boost has the upper hand in availibility and long run cost

I really like the nitrous because it is really cheap. I get my bottle filled for 30 $ each time and premium I would have to buy anyway if i had a turbo kit.

Invest in a good engine management system and tune and more N2O if a turbo is too much coin

I haven't used nitrous since November. I only use it at the track because on street tires at the track I spin up to about 70 - 80 mph. If I get the P-tuning short block and Dezod PNP head and I get BC stage 3 cams what EMS should I go with and what would be a "safe" amount of nitrous to run?

i ran nitrous best time was a 13.9 with a 2.002 60ft this was a 60 shot, with the turbo best time so far is a 13.7 with a 2.595 60ft so the turbo is a lot more power, and its cheaper over all, plus you have power all the time Im happy I switched over

build and spray!!! turbos are played out. besides, dont be so sure that getting a ptuning kit will automatically shave .5 sec off your time. i dont know of any ptuning customers running a 13.2 1/4 mile. come to think of it i dont know of any ptuning customers running at the track period...

Whoa! Slow down Brett.

You can run something like the APR unit.

http://www.dezod.com/pd_apr.cfm

That will allow for increased revs and retuning with the cams and N2O

i can think of 4 tc's from florida that have already run 12's or better, and at least two more that could.

I ran my 13.7 on street tires and that was my 1 st time running at the track.

I looked at the ADR unit and it says that it has no control over VVt-i. What units have control over VVT-i? If I am going to spray more I will need to retard cam timing or completely turn off VVT-i when I spray correct?

Also what compression ratio should I be looking at getting with the p-tuning block If I am going to be running all motor/ nitrous? I will be ordering a clutch soon and was wondering if I should get a stage 3 or 4. I already have a Fidanza 9.5lb flywheel just need a new friction plate.

if your going to run all motor with nitrous the highest compression you can get. Nitrous loves compression.

If your going turbo your going to want the lower compression

I'm till trying to decide what I want to do. If I go all motor I would only expect 200 whp then I would want to spray a 200 shot.

I love nitrous, always have. If you are just drag racing it is a fine choice, maybe invest in a nice progressive controller and engine management.
Reason I switched was because it is not allowed in the racing I do.
