Default Aem digital boost gauge sensor

Im running a AEM digital boost gauge, currently not reading anything. no vacuum or boost just gives me the "---" all the connections are right, powers on and shows me the (---) been doing tons of research and it seems to come down to the brass sensor itself being faulty. I just don't see the sense of spending $60 bucks on a tiny brass part. Could I use aftermarket ones ? or am I SOL and have to get the AEM brass one.

its the part that is right above the boost gauge with the yellow plug

Somethings obviously going on. And I would start with electrical for that the mechanical will clearly give you something. It's for sure that unit or a sending wire in the harness somewhere. You gotta replace that sending unit man. That's definitely it.

You can't use any replacement ones other than the AEM because the gauge's brain is calibrated for that sensor and that one alone with no possibility of re-programming it for another.

Broke down and just bought the sensor from AEM, considering the fact a full AEM boost gauge kit is about $150, and the sensor cost me $70. Will post again when the part comes in on Friday and installed to see if this fixes my issue. I knew I had a hell of a time trying to search anything about it
