Default AEM EMS-4 standalone under $850

Has anyone looked into running this new AEM EMS-4 unit? It looks highly capable of doing almost everything we could possibly need for less than half the cost of the standalones on the market already. Also it's also using AEM's new AEMtuner and it's set to driver 4 high impedance injectors. Once someone gets the wiring to work you'd have an AEM standalone for the price of a Emangle Ultimate setup...

I'd realy like to hear what some of the Scion shops / tuners think about it.

I couldn't get the specs to paste in the post without looking like fubar so check out the link.

Looks like a great piece. The only I can see is that it will only do one output. So if you want to run cam timing you cant run Idle control.(what AEM tech said) Also you can't use drive by wire. So the unit will be a piggyback to your stock ECU.

AEM EMS is a great unit. I have used on my street car for years. But MOTEC M800 is the best unit out there.

Well, I have not played with too much Motec stuff, however I can tell you that even the M400 is out of the price range of the average Scion owner, let along the M800.

We are working on something really slick that this community will love. Stay tuned!

Still playing around with it. Beginning to look like a lot more work and money than the initial up front cost of the unit.

This is very true...I'm in a rebuilding phase right now and going to E85 and then you might get a call to come to the queen city.

It's not done yet. My friend just talked to paul last week when he was looking for a new stand alone. Def waiting for it though as Paul is a god for tuning scions
