Default AEM EMS START UP PROBLEM, WONT START, ANY TIPS?

I just got the aem ems race box in for my 07 turbo tc we have been working on, I have installed the iacv, and the 3 bar map sensor, I have deatschwerks 550 cc injectors. The map is for 550's, I am not finding the deatschwerks in there, but maybe the rc list will work if there the same impedance

any help is appreiciated, cant wait to get it started

thanks for the help

Justin

thanks for helping me out last night! we figured out we are getting no FIRE.

plug the stock ECU up and it fires right up, plug back the aem, (and we checked all the settings) and NO FIRE..

maybe the box is bad, I looked at the harness and it looks ok..

UPS is not to careful with things and could have dropped the package...

Ill talk to Paul tomm. he will help us out

I'm sorry but I doubt its the box. Make sure you have all of the sensors configured properly and the harness wired properly (the flying leads you had to connect) then make sure you have fuel pump turned on. My map didn't have the fuel pump turned on originally but also you need to make sure all of the break points are set. As long as you selected high impedance injectors you are fine it just has to be close doesn't have to be exact I found this out on mine.

Hey nick, I helped him out the best i could last night.. When he says it wont fire he means it will not get any spark!

Aem box was not sensing the car trying to start..

It was late and i was in bed to keep messing with it..

Seems to me like maybe a bad connection in the PNP harness. or Box..

Is the car stat syncing in the EMS software?

Check to make sure the injector wizard is programmed properly for your injectors.

Check to make sure any O2 sensor (wideband) you have connected is calibrated and connected properly to the system.

Check to make sure you are getting a viable MAP sensor reading and that it is not wired in wrong, and it makes sense when cranking.

Check to make sure all sensors are reading appropriate values (coolant temp, air temp etc)

Check to make sure fuel pump is enabled in the software (as Nick stated)

Lastly, you can try warming the car up on the stock injectors and stock ECU, then attempting to switch over to the AEM once it's warmed up. The cold start maps may not be 100% for your area.

If you are unsure of how to do any of these procedures, you should not be touching this system and should let a tuner do so for you. You can cause severe engine damage from not knowing what you are doing in this software. This is not a piggyback, this is not a toy. This is a true, control all standalone engine management system.

What mods do you have? If you are boosted have you tried someone else's map only to attempt to start to see if box is working then shutoff immediately until retuned. Make sure its the same year and very similar mods.

I have a supra with an aem, and am familiar with tuning fuel and timing as you get all the setups for the aem for a supra and it works pretty well, all except cold start which Justin Nenni of tuning concepts helped me with and had it perfect.

I talked with Paul and he stated to see if it is start syncing, which I didnt pay attention to last night. I will check it out tonight, and see if its just my cold start, but I did pull all the plugs out and ground them and there was no fire.

Its probably something simple, will let you guys know..

thanks for the help Paul
