Hey everyone in the FI section...
I have the Dezod S1 turbo kit with the AEM FI/C and the Dezod Plug n' play harness. I had a dead battery a few days ago and couldnt figure out why it died. Well I figured it out and my throttle body doesnt shut off when you turn the car off like its supposed to.
You know when the car is in the ON position on the ignition and if u listen u can hear a little buzzing noise. Well every tC you turn the car off and that noise which is the throttle body turns off. Well mine doesnt
So I unplug one of the harnesses going to the FI/C and the throttle body shuts off. Then I plug it back in and it stays off. So I have to do this everytime I turn the car off and its really annoying.
Does anyone know why it would do this and more importantly, How I can fix it? We think and hope its just a simple setting on the AEM FI/C that has to be messed with but I personally do not know how to do that.
Joe at DezodWest has been VERY helpful with this. I went over to his shop and we trouble shooted it and thats how I found out that it was the throttle body and he is seeing whats up with that. So in the mean time while im at home, I wanted to see if anybody on SL can help me out! Thanks

TPS signal? Well it stays on when i turn the car off. Then I unplug just one of the harnesses and then it shuts off. I plug it back in and it stays off.
that's just wierd...you said you unplugged one of the wire bundles...what happens if you unplug the other one instead?
Maybe it's a wireing issue? something not grounded rite in the harness?

I drove the car tonight and tried that... Im all. what happens if i unplug the other harness? Same thing! Shuts off with just unplugging the other wire harness from the FI/C.... AHHHH this is so annoying. WTF!
Ok. There is a bypass harness a little thing that is included with the FIC, and you will need to plug that into the system to see if the problem persists. DO that and post up results. I have a theory I need to test.

Doing that basically removes the AEM FI/C out of the equation if I am correct right? Will the car start without my engine management plugged in? Because i was told without it my car wont run
it shoudl start, cause at idle, the only difference is yoru larger injectors.
Do you know if this was happeneing from the very start, or did it start happening after you went to that second tuner taht didn't know how to dyno an auto?

Ok Paul, I just went out and tried the bypass harness and started it up let it idle for a little while. Shut it off and it shut off like it should. So that tells me that it IS the aem fi/c. So what to do now?
Meaty, Im not sure if it did it before I had it dyno tuned because after the install, I drove it home from Dezod West and parked it until I got it dyno tuned. I didnt even want to drive it so I didnt pay attention. Im assuming it happened from the start

Well...how long did it sit after dezod and before the tune? cause if it was happening then, then your battery should have been dead before you even went to get tuned, right?
I'm asking because you said that your tuner who couldn't dyno an auto said dezod had old software and so he had to get new software, flash your f/ic and wipe out the maps. And based on that, I dont' think he knew what the hell he was doing, and probably changed some setting on the f/ic that is making that happen.
Like I said before...dezod had the latest software, they had already flashed the f/ic, and even if they hadn't, you can upgrade the old maps to the new software without loosing anything or starting from scratch.
From you tests, I DO beleive it's the f/ic, but I think it's some setting your tuner put in.
What's the possibility of going back to dezod west and having joe look at it?

Well I have been over at Dezods many times. They have been in contact with AEM to try and figure the problem out. The car only sat for the weekend so not long enought to kill the battery.
