AEM FIC Feedback 05-06 tC
thats normal for a managment that has no way of making fuel corrections based off of intake temp and doesnt create its own fuel trims (ie run off a wideband). On a managment like the fic you try and find a middle ground based off of what a typical season is like in that area or you create a winter tune and a summer tune. Which btw the fic as the ability to swap between the two on the fly via a simple toggle switch...all it needs is setting up. still by no means the greatest way to do things but it works.
I believe the wideband can only be used to make corrections to fueling, even with the x1. The x1 primarily uses MAF signal, allowing for consistent accuracy in that it accounts for air density which the FIC can't do at all by relying on MAP.
EMU also has wideband feedback (autotune) - once you get the settings dialed in it runs great. Weve had some BIG temp swings lately (30-35*, than up to 80* lol) and its compensated perfectly, after a pull or two my afr is always right back where I want it.
...though I think they sell an optional O2 harness, have people had success with this?
Doesnt matter for me really - on a 6262, getting over 2-3 psi requires enough throttle/rpm to throw it into open loop. Im also running E85 on low compression (built bottom end), so 14.7:1 gas afr up to 2-3 psi is perfectly fine with me
I wish I could tell you what my afrs are at now, but my wideband stopped reading. So once it gets warmer I gave to fix it. But before it went out my afrs were always perfect
Lol on mine, half the led segments dont work. You have to kind of "figure out" the number based on the segments that do work and what leds across the top are lit lol. half the time I just datalog it, or watch it in real time through my notebook connected to the EMU.
... It looked and smelled like some kind of abomination of a marshmallow.
ironically, earlier tonight, I was driving and my Oil press. dropped to ---. I freaked out but when I checked everything out visually, everything seemed fine, good levels on dipstick and all.
Eventually found one of the butt crimp connectors where I extended the wiring had gotten loose on one end. Soldered the connection and all seems well again

man, all i have to say, is that if it isn't the wire or something i did wrong, i'm completely getting rid of all my AEM gauges. my oil pressure gauge worked 100% fine, until i got it on the dyno then it pooped out. i sent it in and they said it was a bent pin and thats why it wouldn't work (even thought it worked for 4 months). my Boost gauge as soon as i plugged it in never worked. i tried it so many different ways, i sent it in and they said it worked perfectly fine and sent it back (but a different gauge)
for some reason i havnt come by an aem gauge that didnt work unless it was an install error pretty much. though im sure ill come by one thats crappy right out of the box sooner or later.
