Default AEM FIC problems

ennybody here familiar with the aem fic?
I post on this forum couse they are meny scion with forced induction

I have installed a aem fic on my corolla dual vvti 1zrfe (2zrfe),
every single wire are correct connected. but when the fic is cinnected and controling the sensors i get 2 codes, I can just turn ignition on and the cel lights up without starting the engine
p0343 = camshaft position sensor "a" circuit high input (bank 1 or sigle sensor)
p0368 = camshaft position sensor "b" circuit high input (bank 1)

when diconecting the fic and starting the engine with the bypass harness the codes are gone.
the trouble code chart says it could be a open ore short circuit, but it isnt that because if there is a open ore short it should be codes even with the bypass. Im shore its something with the fic becaouse its only running with the fic.

maybe grounded wrong ore something
please help

I have heard about this problem with the AEM FIC on the new engines. You may want to post in the 2G section about this. Contact PTuning as I think they have it running right now on a TC.

that sure sounds alot like what we first gen tc guys deal with...wonder if the resistors would work for yall as well?

i was thinking the same thing. doesn't the cam sensor emit some kind of frequency that messes with the fic? which should be fixed by the resistor mod?

ive got several mamps fro 630 and 550 injectors for the tc, 2007-10. i know if you use the boomslang harnes they get rid of the resitor for the o2 part of the harness, hit me nup if you want me to email you a map

The "resistor mod" ain't gonna fix this issue. Although a new resistor mod might. The known resistor mod reduces the signal voltage between the cam and crk sensors and the FIC to mitigate the problem of the FIC reading extra crk and/or cam pulses.

In this case the FIC output signal voltage appears to be too high. Adding parallel resistance between the FIC and ECU cam signal may help. Reducing the FIC input signal has zero effect on the FIC output signal. The cam sensor outputs a +/- 3V analog sine wave and the FIC outputs a +/- 5V analog sine wave. Lowering the FIC output signal to 3V might help.

ok so how big resistor do i need?
and is the connection like this

cam sensor ----fic in----fic out---(resistor)---ecm

I wish I knew. I'm simply theorizing based on oscilloscope testing I did while trying to sort out misfire problems with the FIC and my XB2. I never experimented with adding resistance on the crk or cam FIC outputs. I also never attempted to make the 1911 FIC work with my car and stayed with the 1910 model instead.

I think your best bet is to contact P-Tuning as Paul suggested. Descendant and AEM may also be able to help. Is your ECU located in the engine bay like the XB2 and Corolla XRS? If so the old TC resistor mod doesn't seem to work.

Your resistor placement is correct, per my theory. If you're in a hurry and want to troubleshoot this yourself, you could add a 0-10k POT with a 1K resistor in-line to prevent an accidental short and test various R values or you could just experiment with different value resistors.

I sincerely wish you luck.
