Any Problems with Dezod`s Kit?

Default Any Problems with Dezod`s Kit?

I should be getting Dezod`s kit soon and I just wanted to make sue if anyone with their kit has had any problems or anything I need to be aware of or any warnings or whatever. Keep in mind that I have a 2007 manual tC. So, is there anything I need to know regarding their kit?

i only had a fitment problem with my downpipe/wastegate connection. i had to get that redone. HOWEVER, this was with their old kit and they have since redone that connection (if you are even planning on recirculating your wastegate). there was some minor trimming inside the bumper for the intercooler but nothing thats noticeable from the outside.

assuming they fixed the fitment problem i had, there is no problems with this kit as long as you do everything correctly. but if your not even going to recirculate the wastegate, i wouldn't worry.

Oh, I`m not too fond of trimming the bumper. I hope I don`t have to do that.

Depends on how you mount the intercooler to the crash bar. Tabs on top usually leads to more trimming, where as tabs on bottom do not require as much or at all.

even if you do trim, don't worry, not a big deal at all. a little trimming should be the least of your worrys when installing something as big as a turbokit.

btw, the quality of the materials in their kit is top notch. no problems so far after about 10k.

I think it's funny that you started this post AFTER you ordered your turbo kit!

Oh well, I did the same thing when I started asking people if they were rubbing AFTER I ordered my 18x8.5 rims!!!

I had Dezods S1 kit on my 06 tC and as with alot of the late 06 kits that came out i had fitment issues with the wastegate to the manifold (minor) and a serious issue with the position of the secondary 02 sensor that put me out of commission for a day or so. The cause for the issue with the position of the secondary O2 bung was a knucklehead over at the company that was building the downpipes and s-pipes for their kit. The guy was eyeballing the bungs is when he was supposed to be using a fixture that Paul provided them with.


Anywho, the problem with the sensor position was that it was so close to the cv support hub on the passanger side that heat from operation burnt through the outter wiring cover's on the sensors wires and cause the EFI system to short circuit (only resulting in popping EFI fuses). EFI componets ground through the block so when this other electrical componet was introduced to this circuit, it was blow the fuse. When that fuse blows the car (if running) will shut off and not crank). Me and Paul over at dezod quickly addressed the problem and had the problem fixed. I though had to fix my problem myself by capping the existing bung and welding a new one in. No problem. Only cost $10.

This is an issue that you should not be concerned with being as Paul chewed some ___ out over it.

I sure do miss my boosted tC, quickest vehicle i've ever had (other than my bikes )

Night before last, I helped one of our crew members finish up the last part of his Dezod turbo kit install. That last part was trying to fit the front bumper on to the car. It took us 3 or so hours to get the front bumper back on, because we (should I say "he") was ANTI-bumper cutting. So, we were going through every possible situation on getting the bumper back on WITHOUT having to cut it. In the end, we ended up cutting about an Inch and a 1/2 off of the right side Intercooler piping.

The pipe coming off the end tank on the right side, I would recommend you not tighten completely yet, until you do Bumper fitment test. You may need to twist and rotate that pipe if need be, so that it can fit properly underneath the bottom vent hole.

After we got it cut, and rotated the pipe some, it fit perfectly. So, so far as far as installation goes, you will not get the front bumper to fit on the first go around. So you will have to play with it a little and make adjustments and if you are against cutting the bumper, you can cut some of the piping instead. The pipe we cut was the right side (Driver side) "U" shaped pipe.

I probably will do some driving impressions/thoughts once he gets it all broken in, and a new clutch in the car so he can beat on it a bit.

He does not have the standard Dezod S1 kit, as he has the ITS Dual Ball Bearing upgrade turbo instead of the one that comes with the S1 kit. He is on the base map, and reading 8.7 lbs of boost currently.
