Anyone here installed the S/C themselves?
I did mine in 6 hours. Wasn't hard. Do you have any experience at installing parts like this? If not I would not recommend it. You may not like to take your car to a dealer but just remember if you botch up the install thats probably where it's going. Also keep in mine you have to reflash before you drive at all. Otherwise I would kiss your motor goodbye.
Just remember, by installing it yourself you jeopardize your warranty. The cause of the s/c problems seems to be related to faulty installs. Having said that do you really want to take the chance of installing it yourself or by someone you know when the delership will honor the warranty if they do the work? You save yourself some money doing it yourself but the risk isn't worth it to me.
Well, I looked over the instructions. You're right, it really isn't that hard. I work at a dealership myself. I always do everything according to the service manual. But I've seen people just practically using impact on every god damn thing. I will get the ecu reflash at my locate dealer.
