Need a set of ARP head studs and not from RACE ENGINEER. I recieved a set and they are wrong..

Ahh, I was gonna get mine from them, but actually, I may not even get anything from them now. Cuz, I don't wanna take my motor apart and find that I have the wrong parts. Screw that. Think Paul @ Dezod has everything (qualitywise too) for my Stage II?

 

To be quite honest, and from experience, (as in I just got them delivered to my house), I know he has the Rod/Main Bearings, Rods, Cometic Head Gasket, and Injectors. I believe Pistons are currently getting made and will be ready in a few weeks. I am unsure as the ARP head studs, but I am sure he has some, I already had mine.

So there you go Neil, Call him up and order!

 

its not the product. its just I have a gen 2 2az. So the studs don't fit. 07 and up are different in many ways internally. so if you have an 05 to a 06 these head studs are fine....

 

What part number are the 05-06 ones you have? I have been unable to find the part number.

 

well the ones from RaceEngineering are the ones on the market for the 2AZ.. the part number is HSK-2AZFE.. but got measurement for the 2007and up engines and giving them to P-tunning and Arp to have them fabricate them..

This is good info to know about the new blocks. Have you called Race Engineering and let them know? You should also edit your first post so people don't think RE is shipping out the wrong parts. I don't think many if anyone knew about this.

Couldn't you take them to a machine shop and have them cut to the right size? Might be a good fix until someone can find the right size studs.

 

Well I have great news.. I officially gave ARP a full measurement of the 2007-up studs and they have them on record. No more second guessing on them and they will have a solid part number. The thing before was that they didn't have anything on file directly at ARP... They had a customer who just labled them as that speced out to be roughly would fit the 2az. Now they have a hard copy in there system and checking there data base to see if they will fit or personally make a set..

 

Great news for the 07-up guys!

 

We have a complete '07 longblock due to arrive at our facility by the end of the week. I will take the motor apart and determine what the difference are in regards to the head bolt and main bolt, vs the 1st gen block. From that, we will design the head stud and main studs. The head stud should be straight forward, the main studs is what i'm more concerned about. In case anyone has taken measurements of the main bolts, it's only 10mm in diameter with a double undercut shank. The smallest section on the main bolt shank is only 7.43mm--that is tiny for a main bolt, at least for a engine looking to make 500+whp. The main studs used on the honda b series motor is already 11mm. It's going to take a bit of time to get the right fasteners design but we are working on it.

Also, it's no secret that there's is NO ARP heads studs available specifically for the 2az-fe motor. What everyone has been buyinng is basically a relabled head studs from the Honda B18 motor. Although it sort of fits, it was NOT designed specifically for the 2az-fe motor. We are working on designing the correct fasteners specifically for the 2az-fe motor (1st and 2nd gen).

The 2az-fe bottom-end was definitely not design for crazy power. If you look at the bottom end on a S2000 F20C motor as compare to the 2az-fe motor, the F20C motor looks like it was designed as a purpose-built race motor, where as the 2az-fe motor looks like it was designed for a compact 2-door coupe, lol. In time, we will find out the limitations of the 2az-fe bottom-end. Due to the design of the cast aluminum bottom-half of the block, the balancer assembly and the location of the oil pump, there's no room to create a girdle to brace the 5 main caps, without either machining the bottom-half of the block or casting a new lower block housing. But at least toyota added the oil squirters on the second gen block which is a plus for forced induction.

Finally got the 07 block into the shop. The head bolt on the tc block (1st gen)is 18mm longer than the head bolt on the 2nd gen. We'll get more measurements and work on the production of the head studs for both blocks.

PTUNING Head Studs and Main Studs for the first gen 2az-fe ('05-'06) and 2nd gen 2AZ-FE ('07-'08) are currently being custom manufactured for us by ARP. We will provide more details shortly.
