Default Badly need some advice!!!

I just got my car back today and i have a t3t4 turbo on it. Im soo frustrated with the car im almost at the point of selling it. The turbo is bumping the power up to 230whp but the tranny is starting to slip. I cant turn the boost down anymore because of a flaw in the design of the manifold. I have gone completely broke on this car and im trying to just get it back to a nice running car. for as cheep as possible. Whats the best rout, taking the turbo off, rebuilding the tranny, or doing a manual swap. I will take any and all advice. Thanks guys.

I would do a tranny swap into a 5spd.. it's not gonna be cheap though..

Which kit did you get?

some advice:

dont do this:

what kit? and what manifold flaw is keeping you frm turning the boost down?

manual swap is always an option but expensive.

My advice save some money fix it or go to junk yard see if you can find a totaled tc take that tranny out see how good the bell housing is and the internal parts then swap them out. Another word if I may unless u build an automatic tranny with stronger housing and parts they won't handle a turbo setup with mid to high boost pressure. After that swap for manual if u decide to keep it.

Or you could save up enough money to get a valve body upgrade. That would stop the tranny from slipping and give you some good shifts

well there are plenty of posts about auto's and turbos so you should've had an idea that this would happen. how bad is it slipping? during DD or just when your doing some spirited driving? it would be a good idea to not drive it like you stole it so much, that helps the tranny last longer.

if it's just slipping when your boosting, how about seeing if you can find someone to swap manifolds with or buy a more auto friendly one. i think dezod mentioned that the log style mani's are somewhat friendlier to the autos. tuning it down some would probably be a cheap and effective solution compared to swapping trannies. that is of course if your tranny is not completely shot already. if that is the case then go for the manual swap. but just be aware that it can get expensive and will more than likely take a lot of downtime. sp0t did his swap in a matter of a week i think but some others took as long as a month to do it.

.. u shouldve known this was going to happen. manual swap is expensive and can take a while depending on the shop.

after my tranny is done bieng built ill let u kno how she does on 9-11 lbs perfect shifts... never losing boost and better traction.

yeah...what manifold do you have, and what "flaw" is keeping you from turning down the boost?

He could be talking about how on some manifolds, the design with the wastegate location is not so good and can cause boost creep.

boost creep can be manipulated by simply turning the boost down though...

you know.. if you want 8 psi have a 6 psi spring to off set?? sure it will be mostly spikes but you wont have to worry so much about blowing something..

your worry or problem i should say would just be inconsistant boost which would negativly affect your power.

a new mani seems in order along with a tranny re build or manual swap! whatever route you go, GL as all are long and painfull!
