Default bastard 20g questions

i just bought a zpi kit with intercooler and instead of the 16g it has a td05h 20g(bastard 20g) could i run this turbo untuned like the zpi 16g? i dont want answers of people saying to never run untuned cuz ive done research and there are alot of people running untuned on 16g's at 6psi wich is what i want to run....i just want to know if this turbo can be ran untuned like the 16g. any info is greatly appreciated.

no it can't it pushes more CFM then a 16G thats the same as asking if a 16G and an 18G are the same its a bigger turbo more air is a more lean mixture and that means.

Then dont run it without tuning it? Ill be honest, I ran my setup on 5psi along time ago when I was auto untuned, and it ran like ____. Some folks have had decent luck with the 16g on the stage 0 untuned, but its still hit or miss and depends highly on having the right maf holder that was originally used with the zpi kit.

i might be wrong but all of the 16g turbos ive seen on zpi kits r
td05h
a "bastard 20g" is a modified 16g which has been ported and uses a 20g compressor wheel under the 16g cover. can we see pics of your turbo?

This is a td05h turbine wheel, but a billet 20g compressor wheel, and it is Clipped AND has a ported exhaust housing. A normal evo3 16g turbo that was used in the zpi kits are rated at 39lbs/min of flow, while this turbo is rated at 47lbs/min of flow.

i think running untuned will work assuming u dont run a wg spring and only go wot. any partial throttle and u might lean out. and dont run a boost gauge we all know the more cuts in the vac line the more chances for a leak. you should have a sick dd with this.

I run a bastard 20g on a ZPI kit and I say it probably is possible but with only like 3-4 PSI. I personally would put the 16g back in if I were to go back to the stage 0 at 6 PSI. I am assuming this is an all original kit minus the turbo.

an FiC is like 300 bucks brand new. if you can't afford that on your next 2 checks you probably are better off not boosting your car. I'd rather wait a month then do it right then put my ish on and have my car go boom then you are saving for a motor instead of a piggy back
