Bearing Failure -What to do next?
After signs of bearing failure (loss of oil pressure, car ran hotter than normal, very very very slight knocking sound), I pulled my oil pan today to confirm my thoughts. Quick backgroung - it's a 2006 73XXX miles - turboed on a greddy kit for about 35XXX
The bad, there was bearing material in the oil pan. The good, there was very little of it. Only three or four noticeable flakes.
I'm kinda at a loss on what to do now. So my questions are:
1.) How hard is it to pull off the oil pickup to expose the rods and mains? Can I actually check for wear this way?
2.) Would it be possible to spin new bearings into it? I figure since the wear appears to be so minimal, the journals may not be scorn yet? Has anyone tried this?
3.) If new bearings are not possible, what are the chances the block can be machined and rebuild? I've heard the tolerances are very tight making machining not possible most of the time?
4.) What's my best options - Rebuild vs new engine vs. do nothing? I really have no idea.
Thanks in advance, really appreciate the help.

I'd say rebuild unless your planning on ditching the car soon. If it were me I'd be worried something would break every time I drove it. And it could be way worse if a bearing failed or something broke. Tons of people get their blocks machined and put in pistons/rods/bearings.
I actually was thinking of unloading the car soon......I work in the city and take the train and barely drive. And when I do, it's in my finance car. So, it just sits in the driveway and gets dirty (don't even have a garage to keep it in).
