Default BEST EBAY TURBO...LOL

Ok long story short, i need to send my precision 5031 out for a rebuild. I have oil leaking into the cold side of the turbo...no bueno!!! Now heres my real issue. As we all know, install is easy but a lil time consuming. So my idea is to buy a bs ebay turbo, slap it on and send my precision out to be rebuilt, but, i wanna see what the census is on what ebay brands ppl have used successfully.

Again, im not using it for long, i just dont feel like goin thru the hassle of taking everything out and replacing it w the stock parts again. Ive done it a couple of times and dont wanna do it all over again.

It might work as a quick bandaid, but I wouldnt leave it on there for more than two weeks. I just imagine the compressor just shattering into a billion pieces :-/

you should research on a 240sx forum like zilvia, freshalloy, or nico. many S13 guys (I was one of them) are ghetto and run ebay everything lol. i bet you'll find a lot more information (good or bad).

I say do it. Running an ebay turbo isnt gonna kill your motor. I would jus slap it on and just run the car normal. Try and stay out of boost since you wont really be tuned for the Ebay size turbo you get. The worst that will happen is the seals will go and youll start smoking out the exhaust. Itll work till you can get your Precision turbo back.

You could pick up a used turbo for cheaper and run it. Check out homemadeturbo.com in the for sale section, or Craigslist. If u still want to go eBay, I've heard Godspeed isn't bad as long as you don't abuse it.

You may want to be ready to deal with it for more like 4-5weeks. It took a little over a month for them to rebuild my 5031E when i use to run that turbo. Jus letting you know.

Many people doubt the china chargers but they hold up just fine. Personally know people running 600hp with them but I wouldn't suggest going that high. The only issue with them is replacing the seals since they aren't official garret's or mitsu or any other real manufacture. You'll only have it for a short time period so it won't break the bank at only 150-300$ give or take shipping. Good Luck

IDK why people rag on "ebay" turbos because 2 of my friends are running "ebay" turbo kits and are doing just fine....obviously you cant make high hp...but 1 of my friends has a 95 civic with a STOCK B16 on 10psi making 304WHP and ill tell you that that fukn car runs good...hes been beating a lot of fast cars out here....and his tune which is really important is solid...car runs low 12's...and my other friend has an Integra with a fully built LS (non vtec) @ 14psi.....i think its around 290whp...his car is quick as well.....i guess its all about ur goal and budget...my friend with the civic built his car with under $3,000 and is beating people with 3x the amount of $....now for my tC i wanted high HP so i fully built my engine and im running the Descendant V2 turbo kit....this weekend its going on the dyno and i plan to boost 18-23 psi depending where i start to loose fuel...and how ever the tune goes...

so anyway there is good and bad ebay turbos out there....but depending on how u plan on driving ur car depends on what turbo u get...a good one or bad...

If you are fitting them to a kit, they will not fit exactly. You will have to have your pipes modified.
