man i was gonna gap mine, and i made the comment at the parts shop and she said they will break, so how did u gap them?

No they are set at .032 if you order denso's. You have to use a feeler gauge set and bend the arm, not touching the iridium tip to gap them. A slide gapper will damage iridium plugs.

Yes, yes you are right Most all new imports come stock with long life IFR series iridium plugs, which is a VERY good plug. N/a people with mild mods have no reason to change the plugs.

Hey all.. finally change my sparkplugs and put in the NGK 7s in. Ill test drive it tomorrow, but it was idling fine. Attached are two pics i took of the plugs i removed. What i noticed and im hoping it comes out in the pics is a bit of oil on the threads, and some scorching around the tip of the plug. Anything to be worried about? I recently had an oil leak when I added the Oil pressure line with a fitting that didnt exactly fit, so I did have oil on the side of my engine, and a few days after that, my oil cap popped right off and sprayed oil everywhere. Think oil might have gotten into the plug area? Anyway, here are the pics... let me know what you guys think.

Id go with Denso or NGK Iridiums.

update: After swappin my plugs for NGK 7s, i noticed idle was great, but FT was buckin on me. I regapped plugs and now it idles richer than it was before, but FT is where it used to be.... any thoughts?

what was the original gap. if the gap is too big your going to get spark blowout.

i guess when you tighten the gap the idle got poor but the bucking stopped. you need to find the middle point.. where is your gap now. id shoot for a .031 gap and make sure not to use one of those crappy plug gappers. get a nice set of feeler gauges.

if your running hella boost run a .28 gap or lower and run an HKS DLI.

Under 12psi in a tc & iridium plugs run .040, already been testing it and it works fine. over 12 psi I would go down to .032 and no thinner. That should be good to 25psi+ without issues on our cars.

Looks like you got oil in your spark plug tubes. No worries. Also your plugs look normal, no worries there either.

With iridium there is 0 need to gap down to .025. These are not junk v-power or nickle tip plugs "aka copper" That is the beauty of iridium, you can run a wider gap without risk of spark blowout.

Put it this way, on a 1500whp supra, my buds run .032 at 2x+ more boost than your running

mine are ngk iridium. mabey my tuner thought that they needed that gap because my turbo maxed out at 14 psi??

Your turbo peaking out at 14 psi would have nothing to do with spark plug gap.

Nothing wrong with that tight of a gap other than you risk a crappy burn / unburnt fuel.
