which boost controller?
Yesterday I got tuned and we planned on uping the boost some, we installed a turboxs MBC and it would not hold the boost. I would hit 10psi then it would quickly drop back down to 7psi (WG spring pressure)
If my tuner turned it down just alittle bit to stiffin the mbc spring we would spike at 14ish psi. So i need a electronic controller with a gain setting i guess. Ive read the AEM truboost doesnt have gain? What do you guys use that doesnt give a boost spike and holds the boost good?
oh and I made 237whp/237tq on 7psi with a 20g.

the issue is not the fact that you are running a manual boost controller, with running just 3psi above wastegate that should not happen (Although an electronic boost controller could "compensate" for that if it rpm based). When we tuned our tC for 500whp we actually had a manual boost controller and the boost curve was flat until we ran over 21psi, but that was because we were running out of turbo. The boost controller at the time was a high performance manual boost controller from turbo xs which has 2 adjustments (one for large adjustment and one for fine tuning).
I would make sure your bov isnt opening early and check for boost leaks.
The True boost is good, I use it. It does have a wastegate crack pressure setting.
But if you want an awesome boost controller, go with one that regulates boost per speed, to utilize the traction you have. It can also smooth out a boost curve by entering a target boost, the controller does the rest! http://www.apexi-usa.com/product_ele...=200&pageNum=1

Also, im pretty sure no boost leaks, I run the PWR liquid-to-air kit so I only have 2 couplers to worry about it, and they are good.
My tuner said it could be how my vac lines are ran, my wastegate taps seperate from the vac line on the passenger side of the engine bay, coming off the valve cover. and off the throttle body vac line i have my BOV, boost gauge, greddy pressure sensor. is this correct?
And yeah I have read about the avc-r, its a really nice unit but ouch..expensive. for that kinda money i might as well go with rado's EBC

truboost is fine, not the best but has cool features and will do the job. the only issue i have with it is that I creep boost 5k rpms up like i boost 1-2 psi more at higher rpms.. no matter how low i set the crack pressure setting it still creeps
