so i have never installed a gauge and dont want to mess things up. my gauge is a electric boost gauge with sender . the wire are black(ground) red (battery+) but there is a orange ,yellow and brown wire that im not sure where to tap into in the fuse box.

orange (ON, the car power line that will not be disconnected at start of engine, from key switch)
yellow (ACC from key switch)
brown (small lamp)

the colors (other than black and red) usually go by whatever brand you have.
just look at the picture and make sure you solder

 

thats was on the instruction. i dont know what they mean from key switch and small lamp.

 

What brand of guage did you buy??

Im going to go out on a limb and say that the "small lamp" wire goes to the switch for your headlights, so that the gauge illuminates when you turn your headlights on. and the the "key switch" wire and can go to any spot that gets power only when the key is in ACC or ON position.

 

i got the "Swoosh" elec. boost gauge and Voltage gauge. going to wire up the AEM wideband as well.
