^^^ sorry if I wasnt clear in my post but I dont have any intentions of boosting up and down the road with snow on the ground. Street crews usually do a good job of cleaning up the main roads fairly quickly in my area just looking for a tire that I DD and that can handle the occasional dusting of snow
^ yea I tend to do the same for the most part if im already home and it starts to snow, but every now and then I get caught in the snow if it starts while I'm already out. Obviously the most ideal situation would be to have a different car or different set of rims with all season or winter tires but for now that's out of the question for me. I'm thinking of going with nitto invos I think they will do fine for what I need right now.
Lets go through this cycle again
On the street I run the tires my car came with from the dealership. They perform just about the same as a drag radial. Unless your going to pull over and heat them up the drag radials are not going to perform well and provide you with the traction you are looking for. Cold drag radials perform just as well as regular street tires. This is a fact and I speak from experience on this one. Slicks cost the same - make the right choice.
Racing from a roll is a joke.. its just for people that dont know how to drive.
If I go out I bring my slicks and a jack.

Racing from a roll is a "skill-less" competition for sure. But if I'm going to run from a dig where skill comes into place, then that person will likely be ushered to the nearest drag strip where, like you said, I'll be bringing a jack and a set of slicks.
Heating up slicks on a dry butt street is a joke too....Need a water box, which is located at the drag strip.
not tryn to be a dick. but i know the tires that come from factory suck even bigger *****... there is no way that they the same as DR's or a better tire like dunlops... on 8 psi i was spinning 3rd with factory tires. again i barely spun 2nd with my star specs at 12 psi. and when i rocked the DR's on the street didnt spin at all in second and they were "cold"
racing from a roll isnt a joke.. to each his own... i race from a roll and at the track.. i like both ..... i know how to drive.. and honestly i believe just going in a straight line isnt knowing how to driving... thats knowing how to shift.... throw cornering into it, completly diff animal

Hmm...wonder why I road race now...lol. Cornering requires a lot more to go fast. I like challenges.
PS.....You guys want to maximize traction on the street with a street tire. Aside from good tires...."Accelerate in an rpm past your Peak Torque Rpm".
