What are you really trying to ask? Your question is too general

I was told if it sat it could rust?
I know it's not like bread. Lol

is a built head over kill, can I run my fic with a built head,
port and polish worth the money?
I don't know anything about it. And I don't see many threads with people building there motors along with the head.
One of the only reasons why I want it are...
I want more of a rpm range. And gain some hp.

Tuning options shouldn't have anything to do with the head. You might need another tuning session since a done-up cylinder head could increase your boost a few PSI (no joke) though.

A port and polish is a great way to make more power. I don't see the point in you dropping $1000-1500 on a head now and then wait a year or two to install it, however. It's more worthwhile to set the money aside and earn even a few bucks interest on it than just let a cylinder head sitting around (covered and with a little oil on it to prevent that corrosion you're talking about).

Aluminum doesnt rust.

Built head can never be "overkill"

Actually if you have a FIC dont bother... Because its not possible to increase the redline

Get a PNP and a set of Valve Springs/Retainers with an ultimate or standalone and enjoy

Also I would NOT try and run aftermarket cams with a piggyback

I would just put the money in a savings account until you have the cash for the full setup or what you want to do. Problem with buying the parts now and it sitting is the seals could dry rot, not saying they will but its always a possibility. If you buy the head now and its sits I would be concerned with the valve seals dry rotting.

^^^^^^^ that's what I am concerned about.
Not really rusting but corrosion.

I'm only thinking about this because droping $8000-$10000 all at once can be sickning

Trd. I do want to get the greddy ultimate. For the built in two step and so you can control the red line.

Pa has strict emissions and I want my car to be able to pass, or I would use the ems, or the hydra.

You can pass with the ultimate, you can't pas with a standalone though.

APR is another option.

That's good to know. I was wondering if the APR would be able to pass emissions and such.

Unless you use the setup from Lethal Motorsports

Why not? tuning it isnt hard, and the increased flow over stock will only improve power. I dont understand your statement.

It's an "in-line" ECU that works similar to a programmable TRD reflash. You can not enter excessively rich VAC AFRs or it will trigger codes for system too rich or lean. It works in harmony with the stock ECU quite well.

I have been playing with this unit for 10 months. If you set it up right, you can get decent fuel economy in cruise for sure. Better than with any piggyback I have played with. The control is nice and simple! See this thread (esp Page 7)

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=181043

This offers 2Step launch control, an engine guardian mode, MAF rescaling, ignition control (using stock knock control), fuel delivery (using stock fuel delivery).....It's expensive for sure, but has some great usability. Drive-ability, is like a crisp tuned standalone or a stock turbo car.

Built head is only overkill if your goals were < 350whp, which yours are not.

Port is definitely worth it. Polish is debatable as some builders will state that it will carbon up quickly anyway. The way I see it is while you are there, why not! Plus if you run water/meth, that will help keep the motor carbon free.

I would wait to build it as well. If it was built with assembly lube, well that lube isn't meant to last very long. You could build it and oil it every once in a while, but that would be a waste in my opinion. I would just do the entire motor at once, that way there aren't any worries!
