Default Built Motor & Coolant Baffle 07+ 2AZFE

So the 07+ 2az's have a "coolant baffle" inside the engine block which I have provided a picture of the baffle below. It is made of plastic. Is this necessary? I know that the 1st gen 2az did not have this. Sorry for the quality of the picture.

I dont know if its really needed. When i build my engine ima throw it back in...didnt hurt before so shouldnt hurt now. though i do wonder if you would get better flow without it.

Umm, so dont laugh at me, but when I re-assembled my built motor, I misplaced it somewhere in my garage, so I reassembled without it I found it later, but not having it doesn't seem to have an affect on anything, and I have almost a yr and 15k miles on my motor

Lol while honestly not sure of what it does, I am sure its there for a good reason. I do not think a bunch of engineers would just slap a piece of plastic into the engine. I would replace it if it was there.

Its to improve cooling performance and to reduce hot spots.
