Can I used fuel line hose in replace of vacuum line hose?
The topic pretty much says it all. I installed my turbo kit last weekend and ended up running my vacuum line for my wastegate right on top of the manifold. This is definitely not what I wanted to do but all that I was able to do.
I want to reroute this line to the wastegate around the back of the motor and I have a question. I can't seem to find the larger vacuum line size that I need. I found fuel line which I assume would work just fine. Is this a correct assumption or will this lead to swelling like windshield wiper fluid line or cracking do to its intended purpose of having liquid inside?
I know you can't use vacuum line as fuel line because it will not last, but can you use fuel line as vacuum line? I think you can but maybe I am wrong.
Thanks, JOE

yea I think the fuel line should be able to work no problem. I was just wondering if anyone knows a definite answer as I would not want to jeopardize my wastegate being used correctly. Fuel line is thicker than vacuum line as well so I really don't see why this should be a problem.

I never meant to thread-jack but....
The braided steel lines are a breeze to cut with a Dremel tool. Just put on the cutting wheel and it slices through like butter.
The boost controller was no further away than a trip to Lowes and works like a charm. I have it set at 9.5 and was a worthwhile investment.

holy crap, just noticed you're recirc'ed
hows that compared to straight to atmosphere?
i think im going to buy a bunch of fuel lines and replace all vac lines with them. they look a hell of alot nicer lol.

It's a bit quieter than an externally vented BOV, but not THAT much quieter!I don't think there's an advantage to it one way or the other. I just run it that way because the system is set up that way.
I get the braided fuel line from Summit Racing. Their house stock is high quality and 1/2 the price. Here is another photo from a slightly different angle:
Going to buy some magna-clamps to finish it off soon. I would have already, but my hot water heater and over the range microwave went south this week.....so I'm $400 in the red for the month!

And about your question regarding the recirc BOV,
Garabaldy (who also has the Tnetics kit) said that the recirc really keeps the car running smooth and not die between shifts..
This is also why I'm a fan of recirc the BOV on a car with a MAF setup.
