Well if you find a used motor, you can install it yourself.....

Just find a shop to replace the rings and cylinders.....A stealership will charge out the ___

How easy or hard is a motor pull? I don't know how I can compare knowledge but let's just say I can do basic installs like SC'ers and Turbo's. How difficult on a 1-10. I don't think itd be worth the money to rebuild the block I have now. Might as well get an 08 motor with like no miles on it. Otherwise, how much would a mechanic charge for a motor install? Ill need the short and long block right? Basically the whole engine..?

if you can do power adder installs, i think a engine swap is within your skillset. as long as new engine is same as broken engine, it's just a matter of documenting each step.

engine rebuild, though, i'd pay a pro to do that.

if you plan on boosting again, i suggest you rebuild route. better to have a built engine you know is solid, than save a couple of dollars to get an unknown junker engine.

dont buy an 08 engine buy an 05/06 itll save u some time wiring up the different maf and ecu.

yea my friend here charges 1200 outta his garage for a swap so ull be likely to pay more than that at a shop,

a cool way to do the swap is u get multi colors of electrical tape and u color cordinate the connectors on the broken motor and on the car so when putting in the new motor u can use the old motor with the tape as a guide

Go take your car to a shop to have a hydrocarbon test done for a cheap indication of a blown head gasket. Should be around a 30 dollar test.

Oh i'm definitely not going SC route anymore. Once I replace the seal AGAIN, i'm selling the kit and saving for a turbo. Hopefully financial aid will help me get my new motor, if not, TAX RETURNS BABY lol. I'm not going to see this whole situation as a bad thing, now I can rebuild with better pistons and valves and then get a turbo kit. This is going to be one sweet summer!

Big update kinda. Took off the supercharger days ago ran the motor normally and did a compression test just now. With the supercharger on (blown seal), my compression numbers across every cylinder were 80-85.

Now that the supercharger is off my compress numbers go as follows..

150/160/145/150

I guess it was just a bad case of blowby??
