Default car trouble question.

ever since i uninstalled my turbo kit ive been having this problem. I turn the key in my car, it cranks but it doesnt start right away. some times it takes 5 seconds to fully turn over and start. However sometimes it does start rightup on the first try...or if i shut it off after its been running recently and then try to start it, it will start just fine.

im not really sure what i can narrow this down to? something electrical i am guessing. any help would be appreciated.

let it prime first. turn the key to acc, so the car starts beeping, wait like 3 or 4 beeps then crank it, you wanna like the fuel run through before you start it.

most of the time that will help it start right away, sometimes it will still stutter, thats just the way turbo cars are.

oh wait, the kit is off.

did you disconnect the battery?
if not leave it disconnected for like 5 minutes and let the computer reprogram itself.

Did you get colder plugs when you were turbo? If so, did you switch back to stock plugs and gaps after you uninstalled the kit?

i disconnected the batterywhen uninstalling the kit. i also replaced the colder plugs with the stock ones.

Could it be an injector problem? i had to re-solder the stock ones in, but i cant imagine i did that wrong....

also, one other thing i think it COULD be but am not positive. When i was putting the coil packs on, the threads inside of the head were stripped somehow, so the coil pack is pretty much just sitting on top of the spark plug and isnt tightened down upon it.

this might not fix ur problem, but for the coil pack put a little piece of aluminum foil around the plug (just a bit) to get the coul to hold good. That or grab a pair of pliers and carefully squeeze the tip of the coil. It could be dirty stock injectors though, use some techron

for the maf, just take it off, inspect and tight back down.

could this problem have something to do with the Fuel pressure regulator? i've been reading up and that is what keeps the pressure in the fuel line so when you go to start the car, the injectors have fuel readily available to make the car start.

How would i go about checking if this is whats wrong? i've youtubed videos and they say to check the vacuum lines on the FPR, but if what im looking at in my car is the FPR ( a sort-of cup like thing with a clear/white cap on the throttle body side of the engine) i dont see any vaccum lines running from it, just the fuel line.

The only way to test this would be to install a fuel pressure gauge inline on your fuel line. That is not an easy task either. However if you get to that part you want to monitor the fuel pressure drop once the car is off. Anything more than 10psi over an hour or so would be too much. Usually if there is a problem you would notice an immediate drop once the car stops running.
