Default Ceramic/JetHot Coated manifold pics

In another thread someone asked for pics of coated manifolds. I didn't want to thread jack so heres my original post:

Athough its not a Scion heres some good pics of a Ceramic coating on a set of manifolds, turbine housings, and downpipes. I think it looks better then the standard gray ceramic coating out there and at least according to JetHot it retains more heat.

how much would something like that end up costing? i'd really like to get the grey coating on my mmw header because it just looks bleh with all the smudges and stuff on it. the dark blue coating wouldnt be a bad idea either. maybe my intake too... hmmmm

It all depends on how much is going to be coated. For two VQ35 headers it was like $275

Actually I removed that post as to not thread jack that thread and created this new thread. This is the only place on this board I have posted these pics.

Straight from jet hot comp. :

JET-HOT® develops, produces and applies a variety of coatings. Properties of the various coatings include insulation, corrosion resistance, abrasion and impact resistance as well as lubricity. All are applied at one of our regional factories through a meticulous, multi-step process including: thermal degreasing, abrasive-blast stripping with virgin aluminum oxide, double-coating (inside and out on headers), high temperature curing, custom packaging for return shipping, and quality-assurance controls during every phase of the procedure.

Miaplaya, what coating is that?

That is DEF not a JetHot 2000 Black coating on those pipes.

^ THAT is JetHot 2000k FlatBlack Finish.

Maybe Jet-Hot has a new color chart or something to chose from. But I still prefer my coating over the one you posted... no offense

i am wondering how long these coatings will last, and how the original color stands up to the constant heat over long period of use??

I would be very interested in doiung this to my setup once i decide which one to go with. Gives that extra uniqueness and show quality that i am looking for.. SWEET POST..!! Please post up more pics...

nice coating, but overtime, it WILL wear off.

i have the same coating on my turbo manifold, hotside, and DP on my RSX. but after about a year, it wore off a bit. after some research, black is the WORST color for thermal insulation.

WHITE, or a lighter coating is the BEST for insulating heat. Black is best for radiating heat. ie. your radiator, a/c condensor, etc.

Swaintech.com is by far the best company out there for thermal coatings and has proven themselves time and time again. i'm sending off my turbo parts this week along with my bro's Alphawerks header to get swaintech coated.

Hmm thats interesting I could have sworn my buddy told me he got it Jethot coated but now that I look at the thread posted it just says ceramic coated. I also went out to my garage and looked at an old Jethot 2000 coated header I have from another car and it does not look like my OP. Interesting. I'll see where he got it coated and change my OP
