what bearing are you tlaking about? i don't remember any bearings in the axel, only the throw out bearing but that's not what you're tlaking about because you havn't taken the axel out yet.

lol...it does that...tranny may be at an angle opp of the engine and is putting it in a bind....the tranny can be a pain to get out from underneath as well. if you think thats fun just wait till you try and stab the tranny back in...lmao.

(travis i dont want to hear how you did it single handedly with both hands tied behind your back only using your manhood to stab the tranny....lmao...yes i said it!!!!!!!)

I do trannys alone on the tc all the time! Simple..

You dont need to remove axle nuts!

Im guessing you are stuck on the rear motor mount! Loosen the motor mount bolt on pass motor side! push motor over.. slide out trans and rotate counter clockwise.. slide it out!

Next time i do one.. Someone come over with a camera! This is a 3 hour job with one person!

haha everything but the breakfast i could do! but we got the install "almost" done... in 3days haha just gotta get the trans bolted onto the engine again ><

any tips for that one? we didn't touch that last engine mount that is holding the engine on.. should we take that off? we have both the engine and trans being supported by jacks while i'm at work and stuff.

LMAO....but it's true! It's the reason why I have two sons!

JK. Listen OP. You need two jacks one for the engine and one for the tranny. The engine will be slumped down toward the driver side with the tranny removed, so when you go to re-install it, you need to jack up the engine to make it level.

Secondly, you don't need to be torching any bearing, and I'm not sure what bearing you are even talking about.

Third, the passenger axle , after you have removed the bolts holding the bracket onto the block, you need to pry that same bracket off of the block, as it's sitting on Dow Pins as well. Once you do that, all you have to do from there is take a stake of some sort and a hammer, and place it on a good solid part of that bracket and start tapping away toward the passenger side and watch it slide out.

For the driver side, I prefer one of two methods. Going to the Auto store and renting a "Slide Hammer" (that's what it's called people), and the 3 leg puller attachment. If you don't want to do that, you can stick your head up and look down the hole that contained the passenger axle. If you have a stock Diff, there will be a bar going across, and you can see past it and see the head of the Driver axle. Take a really long Flat head screw driver and guide it past the center bar. Now take a hammer and tap away toward the driver side and watch it slide out.

yeah i got it all done except the installing of the trans back on. we have the engine jacked up and have been jacking up the trans too. then with a combination of lowering and raising the engine and trans and shaking it around.. we still weren't able to get it on. we're going to try again today or tomorrow most likely though.

i miss my car

Yeah the only thing we used airtools on was the fly wheel bolts once they were already undone. Everything else so faqr has been done with hand tools and some piping for leverage on the wrenches. We have two jacks tbhough ^^
