My friend installed it in his car, And it engages right at the floor almost! Making it diff to shift.

He's tried:

Bleeding clutch
SS clutch line
Adjusting the rod everywhich way
swapping the clutch master cylinder

I havint messed with it myself. But is the OEM throw out bearing he used the cause? Maybe the ACT one is longer?

Thanks
Mine was like that for a while, and then i readjusted and it was engaging ok, it does engage really low on the pedal though, so i gotta press that sucker all the way in when shifting.

Mike iv installed two of em and yeah you deff got to adjust the pedel but normal adjustments and everything should be good. not sure why this situation is different.

on Marcial's car as soon as i got the clutch in and everything buttoned up i went for a test drive and yeah i had to just about put the peddle through the floor for the clutch to disengage, same pretty much went for Carlos's. after adjustment we were able to get the peddle about halfway when the clutch disengages.

both clutches came from Dezod i think (TY4-HDMM), intrested to see how this turns out.

just wondering did the guy use an aftermarket flywheel?
is the clutch doing anything weired or odd noises?

I think we used the stock tob on carlos's car...not 100% sure though. on Marcial's i used the tob that came with the clutch. Iv seen them side by side and as far as thickness its the same if i remember correctly.

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm probably going to go with an Exedy Stage 1 with the stock flywheel. Anything wrong about that idea?

Stop coming up with stuff for me to buy already! I didn't know this existed, just picked one up, will make the clutch so much nicer.

I wonder what the stock push rod is made of - is it steel or aluminum? If its steel I could just weld some extra material on the end and shape it with the bench grinder - gotta save everywhere you can man

Pedal adjustment is typical and recommended anytime you jump to an aftermarket clutch.

im starting to wonder if the forks are bending or something of that nature, I doubt it but i suppose its possible. have you used an aftermarket clutch on your tc before? what flywheel are you using? stock? When installed did the pressure plate mount flush to the flywheel? just trying to understand a bit better.

I have not done any adjustments yet, but I'm going to adjust it this weekend to see if it helps any. I am using the stock resurafced flywheel, I hope the adjusting it will work.

Even after you adjust it, it will grab really close to the floor, and careful not to adjust it too much as you'll end up having it partially engaged all the time and damage the tob.
