Default custom intake on trd sc

Have anyone put on a custom intake for their trd supercharger without tuning the car? I read up that if you put in a custom intake without tuning it, it would run lean. And i read up that if you put a inake or headers on that you could reflash the ecu with that trd reflash

I think youll be fine. Get a wideband if you plan on tweaking your car if your boosted.

TRD reflash puts the car in a rich state so bolt on like intake, header and what not should lean it out but not to much

Like a AEM wibeband air/fuel gauge. It will give you a correct reading of your a/f ratio at all times.

Does anyone know how to get more power out of the supercharger beside changing the pulley? I already have the ZPI 9lb pulley.

Has anyone w/ a wideband added an intake 2 their supercharger? If so, what are the readings?

We're all learning when it comes to the tC and the TRD SC since most people opt to just keep it all under warranty. Most people who throw their warranty to the dogs usually go turbo

There's several things you can do....

Piggyback ECU/ECU Replacement (bypassing the TRD map and start tuning)

Cams (higher lift, longer durations. more airflow, I'll be guinea-pigging a custom cam this weekend@rippmods, who I believe will be the first to experiment with a cam for the tC with a vortech SC)

Other mods normally associated with NA motors, though more on the exhaust side.

Water/Meth injection (though this only nets 7-10whp with the TRD map)

I wouldn't bother with a FMIC on TRD's SC. The boost loss from the additional piping will likely outweigh the benefits it provides compared to water/meth - but again, I'm not an expert. Besides, FMIC's look really cool

As for what the TRD Reflash does, it starts AFR as very rich, and as boost is applied, it slopes down to lean. Since the TRD map is tuned to work with the included intake, gaining additional HP with a custom intake isn't incredibly likely. But again, we're all learning, and I'm no expert
