Only build a turbo kit if you are experienced in turbo kit building. If you are not experienced at that (which I would assume not since you are asking how to) then you should buy a pre-built kit where time and money were put into research on the correct parts.

Also you never want to go cheap with forced induction (I say this only because you said " possible not so expensive.") You should have at least 3-4k around or starting to save up in case you need to replace or rebuild your motor.

well

dezod.com
whyindustries.com
atpturbo.com

you can get turbo parts anywere even ebay has some great diy parts but you have to be careful, i strongly urge that you stay away from using the most important parts of ur setup from say ebay, liek lets say stay away from ebay turbos, go ahead use a manifold but dont use the ebay turbos, buy a real turbo from garrett or t'netics or greddy and match up to a manifold. be careful if you buy a BOV or wastegate off ebay, make sure there not fake (an easy way to tell is if your paying 20 dollars for a wastegate lol)

goodluck, im finishing my custom kit now. leme kno if u need some help during ur mission, get ready for headaches.

btw for a custom setup ur downpipe and wastegate dump tubes gona have to be made locally at an exhaust shop unless you get a manifold and turbo from dezod ...goodluck

The way Dezod has played with their pricing, it's not a good deal to get pieces from him. When they lowered their S1 kit to $3,650, they didn't also lower it accordingly on their "custom" kit where you can select which turbo, dp, etc. So even if you piece together the same S1 kit, it'll cost about $1k more!

If you want to go custom, you would have to find a good shop that will charge you less than $400 for a manifold, and less than $300 for a DP. This is very possible - but it requires down time for your car.. and lots of uninstalling, and reinstalling stuff.

What is your reasoning for going custom? Cost? Power? Uniqueness?

I'm glad - I think their kit is nice too.

However I remember you too were saying your kit sucked - that was before you actually started playing with it and working on it a little. "the suckiest kit that ever sucked" - I think that was the name of your thread.

Good catch! Actually I never thought it sucked. I was just sick and tired of everyone ELSE telling ME that it sucked. So, I just wanted to get the attention of everyone to tell their stories about the t'netics kit.

Go back and read my first post in that thread......I believe you'll see what I mean.

There are always good deals for stuff on the Honda-tech forum. Get a turbo, wastegate, and bov there...

I don't know... a custom kit is going to cost pretty close to what a pre made kit is if you do it right. I wouldn't touch any of those ebay turbos

Yep. We sell each and every individual piece you would need to do something custom, or you can just get a Signature Series kit and make it your own and we do the dirty work.

Paul,

I'm glad you mentioned this - I was gonna write you a quick email about this so maybe it could help out other customers.

With your signature kit, you can piece together the same exact kit as the S1 but it costs almost $1,000 more. I guess the price wasn't reduced accordingly when you guys dropped your price on the S1 kit.

It's no biggie - but I think others would enjoy the discount.
