Ok, I'll give you my story to get this back on topic.

I purchased a used Turbonetices kit. I have been daily driving it about a year now with only two issues. One, the downpipe cracked and I replaced it with the new design. No problems since then. Two, the turbo blew the seal, I knew that was going to happen when I bought the kit. I replaced it with a Peak Boost 50 trim stage 3 with .63 which is a slightly larger turbo than the Turbonetics unit.

All in all, I really love this car and the way it drives. I have so much fun with it now. I had a road tune done on the Unichip to clean up the AFRs and fix the partial throttle boost AFRs. I run ~10PSI and it's pretty darn fast. I'm still on the stock clutch, but then I have never drag races it and usually don't even hit the gas until 3rd gear. I really need an LSD big time.

To stay on topic..Since the turbo went on, I drive a lot slower, I keep a laptop in the car at all times, and I check the oil more often. Since I'm on a street tune, I do a lot of tuning/monitoring while I drive.

All highway, I managed to get 30-32MPG, with only a couple of WOT pulls when I was on 12PSI. Aggressive driving yields me 16-18mpg. Normal driving gets me 20-22mpg.

I drove slower after being boosted for a year. When you know you have a decently fast car, you drive slower it seems.

Yeah, I rarely go 5 over the speed limit now, and at that speed, I'm always getting passed. But I always laugh when I see some ricer go flying by at like 80-85, because that used to be me. And I love when people try to get thru traffic by switching lanes and cutting people off, and end up getting nowhere. I've noticed that Altima drivers do this the most often.

I drive really slow until I have a clear road. I have a very nice clear road by my work that allows me to do 0-85mph every morning. There's never cars or police in the area. It's fun and it wakes me up a bit.

I drive 80-85 on the highway and I get passed by people.. lol. That's South Florida for ya. At those speeds I average 28mpg. Which was kinda close to stock.

To add in my turbo experience, I've had the turbo on the car for only about 4,500 miles and 2 oil changes. No real major issues.. very satisfied with the T'netics kit. Although I'm trying to figure out why my particular car runs leaner than others. Don't think it's the kit's issue though.

Ohh - and sometimes I hear a ticking coming from the throttle body area while I'm at a light.. it's not valves though.

Iv been boosted for about 5 months, i have a custom setup running a Garrett 60-1 tuned at 9.5 psi. It runs fine just that the tune is a little choppy it tends to break up in the higher RPMs. Since being turbo'd i drive like a saint. funny thing is as soon as i put the kit in got it tuned broke it in a little i got my races in, beat all the people i wanted to beat and that was that. now i drive her like a saint, i open the wastegate once a day, its too fast its not like the go kart i had before. once you go after market turbo you tend to not drive like a douche. minor exhaust leaks but thats what you have to deal w/ going the custom route. car never over heats, the dezod fmic stays nice and warm on the left side and freezing cold on the right. getting it tuned again soon w/ some extra parts going to be getting a considerable power increase so i most likely will be driving like an angel after that. i have an act clutch assembly thats great for going fast but tends to be annoying in traffic especially having to deal w/ the drivers in miami. its not that the extra effort it takes to press the clutch down bothers me its more so the aggressive release that it gives. i can no longer be soo nice with letting people drive my car / educate nublets on how to drive stick...

My only trouble is that the ECU relearns and causes my tune to change every month or so, If i had a PERFECT tune it wouldnt happen but, that would just take too long to get perfect. I do keep my laptop with me at all times just incase i see an extremely off AFR at a certain point and get it out. Knock on wood though, 9 months with the dezod turbo kit installed and no problems yet! I'm very happy with the car and the turbo kit

I had my greddy turbo kit for over 2 years and i had issues. My current one is that there is a lot of oil in my intercooler. I notice a bit of oil on my turbo and a little on an intercooler pipe awhile back , then i had a minor incident on the freeway. I hit a giant tracker tire that was in the middle of the freeway (i was not able to avoid it). My car had no mechanical issues , just body damage ( hood, bumper, and couple of brackets). When i picked it up my car it was smoking alot, they explained it could be because it sat for awhile with out being driven (thick white smoke). I started to inspect it and noticed a lot of oil inside the intercooler and in the outside, next to the blow off valve. I removed the intercooler pipes, but i do not have time to remove the turbo because i have to go to work. I seems like the turbo is leaking oil into the intercooler.

Any ideas , it would help a lot thanks.

get a new turbo, or have yours rebuilt... the seals are bad.
