does anyone know the wiring diagram for the ecu for tapping in the black box???

 

Every single with a pre-tune received 2 seperate wiring diagrams along with the ECU pinout sheet (1st page).

haha.. same here. I installed the black box to most of my wires that were already tapped with other stuff.

is there an LED on the black box to let us know when its tune is taking effect?

 

No, there is no LED on the box. You will see your afr's in closed loop drop down to 13 and lower as boost is increasing. My black box is hidden behind the glove box next to the ECU.

 

is it easy to tune ourselves?

 

I haven't used the software yet because mine came pretuned (Thanks Joe!) From what has been said that the software is similar to using the support tool with emanage and may take some time to figure it out.

 

in that case, can you take your tune, upload it to your laptop and just send that to someone else so they can put it on their box?

 

Before I installed it , I opened it box and noticed that it has a serial port inside the box. So it will be little difficult to do because of where my black box is mounted and I don't have a serial port cable it requires to connect it.

I will see what I can do.

It is theoretically possible. I wont lie. There are some parameters to adjust, along with calibrating your software to read the ECU correctly.

We do the pre-tune because it's a no hassle, guarantee to work unit. Each one was pre-tested. I know everyone has a great tune. Thank you DK01 and smallblock for the kind words.

well if its too hard for an individual to tune properly... i dont see the point.

 

It's not difficult but rather cumbersome and rather inconveinent. That's all. Just takes some getting used to and requires a serial port or USB to serial adapter.

ok, so i got a black box. Now, from what im reading I can set all fields to 10 and not affect the afr to the ecu. so, once I get it on, i an drive it to the dyno with it hooked up. First problem solved. my main question is, how will i know what to put for a value under 10 to richen it and at what rpm range? And what does the vacuum on this unit do for me if I have to type all this in? I know it sounds kinda noobish, but its good info to know for those looking to buy this.

 

Brothers I installed my box today. Works like a dream. Thanks Dezod. I'm geeked I have the preprogrammed box. I hit 11.5 to 12.5 in boost at any thotle position.
