Default Dezod Kit OR ZPI Kit??

Hey,

I see this all over with people going back and forth with what is better. I am not trying to start a war in this thread but i stuck between these two Kits. I see that there are plus's and minus's to both of these kits, i was wondering what would be the best for my situation

I have a 07 Automatic tranny.

If i go with the ZPI kit i would get ;

~~~~>ZPIracing Scion tC Turbo Kit - Stage 0 - 2007
((((((( MHI/ZPI spec Big 16g ))))))
(((((((ZPIracing External 38mm Wastegate )))))))
(((((((Stainless charge piping ))))))
(((((((4 ply couplers )))))
(((((((Stainless Manifold ))))))
(((((((Oil pan fittings for oil return ))))))
(((((((All fuel and timing tuning already complete )))))
(((((((Polished piping ))))))
~~~~>ZPIracing Scion tC Automatic Transmission Valve Body Upgrade

~~~~>ZPIracing Scion tC Stage 1 head package
~~~~>ZPIracing Scion tC Head Studs by ARP

~~~~>ZPIracing 550cc Injectors
~~~~>FLX-3818 (Tranny cooler)

LMK IF I NEED ANYTHING ELSE SO I DON"T BLOW ENGINE OR TRANNY

i have not really looked into a kit from Dezod

LMK what you guys think, What else i should get etc..

Thanks,
danny

I see this thread going downhill in a hurry, but some real information would be better than a bunch of childish squabbling.

I agree, and hence the simple factual comment.

What kind of advantages would your kit have over the ZPI?

Default Hey yall.

Personally I love ZPI and Dezod. I've heard alot of good about both. I own a 2007 Scion TC and I wanna go F/I as well. I see it as you get what you pay for. In the ZPI stage 0 you dont get quite the numbers the Dezod kit puts out. Plus you get alot more in the Dezod Kit. But on the downside you have to replace the clutch with the Dezod kit and the install of that with the clutch can run you a grand. Now if you go ZPI Stage 1 which is around the same price as Dezod and around the same numbers as Dezod its personal preference. If you want a reliable kit that will make your car fun for a fraction of the price go ZPI stage 0. But if you want flatout performance go Dezod. I would pick the Dezod Kit over the ZPI stage 1 for performance but look to pay bout 6-7 grand for kit, clutch (clutch install), miscellaneous stuff, and to get it Tuned. Thanks

I would think a turbo in an auto would actually be pretty nice. Minus your tranny slipping at over 250hp, you would never loose boost with an auto. Just my $0.02

Default Also...

Lets not forget with the Dezod kit you will be right there with the Evo's, Sti's, Srt'4s, C5 Base Corvette and 350z's just to name a few. I work at the hospital in the ED so im saving up my money to get the dezod kit.

You'll be with sti's, evo's and srt's with a zpi stage one also.. Look at the unofficial spokesman for zpi rythmnsmoke ( not sayin anything bad.. When I think zpi I think of your conquests).. He's got vids killin almost everythin in sight.. But you need to rememeber.. It doesn't matter what turbo you get.. You'll be hangin with a lot of people.. But you won't be wicked fast because of the auto.. So whatever you choose might disapoint the performance wise cuz of your auto limitations..

Just out of curiousity, I was just wondering where you are formulating your opinion from on this? If we are sticking to "factual" comments, I was wondering what facts you derive this opinion out of.

All those wins are in a manual tranny, not an auto.
He wont' need a clutch upgrade with either kit cause he has an auto. The think is, Dezods is more of a complete kit. ZPIs is missing some key parts that aren't neccessary for really low boost, namely the injectors, BOV and intercooler. It's kinda of a DIY Starter kit designed to be able to be built upon later. I dont' know if I'd go that rout for an auto.

Which is why I never understood why people always are comparing the Dezod Stage 1 to a ZPI Stage 0. Why is the Superior performing, and more comparable ZPI Stage 1 not in this equation?

Dezod does not offer a entry level kit comparable to the Stage 0. Therefore, if you want to say, "Should I get Dezod, or should I get ZPI?", then you need to be talking about Stage 1 vs Stage 1. Not Stage 0 vs Stage 1. Different price range, different goal achievements, different out puts. Stage 1 vs Stage 1 is ideal.
