well the auto will not push as much whp as a manual will because you lose so much hp by going through the autos drivetrain compared to a manual when they only have a gearbox to go through

I'm only looking for like 230 or 250 max I don't see that unrealistic with staying under 10 in boost

I'm looking for about 8.with 235whp

benefits... auto is awesome if you have enough HP and TQ to push it... as far is 4 bangers are concerned, a 5spd would prob be better, you will need the closer gearing.,,, if you had had TQ, you could get away with an auto...

I'm also planning on going boost with an 07 tc 5speed. Most of which is complete I just need fuel management and a harness. I wouldnt recommend boosting on automatic but thst is just me. I feel as if its a waste for example seeing a hot supra just to find out that it I'd automatic. Not cool haha

So im sure you know that an automatic can shift faster than a manual can right? And im sure you also know that the uber high supras are auto's. Im also then going to make sure you know that stright line drag cars are automatics 99% of the time rite? Idiot.

but the auto on the tc is not faster than a manual can now can it?

me personally, i hate the concept of racing autos because it just turns into "who has more money and who can push the pedal harder" because it just comes down to which car has more power and reaction time when they hit the gas pedal and stand on it. because the thing is anybody could drive an automatic tranny car down a drag strip at WOT and set a good time so long as they can reach the pedals. but for manual transmission cars with a clutch, it takes still and timing to launch the car and shift quickly at the right rpm.

F' u drax JK JK I personally love the my turbo on my auto. yeah the power is less than a mauals but I could care less. I drive in traffic alot so I wouldnt want to deal with the constant shifting. Plus Im not looking to become the hing of the street. I like it cause it makes it just more fun and not to crazy. just my .02

i love my mom's car, it is a subaru legacy 2.5 gt limited. it is an auto, but it is fast as heck.

and the good thing about a turbo auto is that you stay in boost during upshifts.

i was going to say the same comment as drax, but I noticed rob specifically mentioned how sad auto supras were...and that's wrong.

but yeah, the auto in the tC is no where near the quality of the auto in a supra or vette. Plus, the tC auto tranny starts slipping after 235whp anyway, so 300 is out of the question.

The other thing is chris mentioned a stage 0, which has no intercooler. Any other kit (I will resist the urge to say any "decent" kit) with an IC will have to be slightly reworked to fit an Auto. TurboToyotas is working on a mockoup for his Basik kit for an auto, but I think he needs a test car. But Dezod already has an auto kit.

I drive an auto and was boosted at one point. It was fun, but I wouldn't do it again. Just drive your tC and get a manual car and then boost it. You'll be much happier in the long run...well in my opinion atleast. I was sitting at abouty 250whp 250tq, I wanted to track the car but I was worried about the tranny. 1st and 2nd really dislike turbo's. lol. From a roll, it was much better. So, if you really belive you will be satisfied with 230 or so HP, then by all means boost it. But if you are like me and yearn for more, then don't do it, you'll be disappointed on how much more $$ you'll have to drop just to get to 300hp safely.
