Default Disappointed Results from Greddy Turbo Kit......

OK.... i just finally got my car after 2 weeks and when they did the dyno it read 201whp and 218.6 tq. I have a automatic with a light weight crank pully and full catback exhaust. I didnt get the aem wideband a/r fuel gauge. can someone explain to me why I am seeing such low numbers??? I was expecting to see at least 250!!!

Do I need that gauge for the tuning?? .......Then again the emanage was pretuned

how much boost is it pushing? also, i'm pretty sure that manuals only get 240 hp with the greddy kit, so with an auto, your not going to get as much power to the wheels. 201 seems alittle low, but dyno's vary alot

wow 201 is low. might as well drop a legal SC. Has your car been tuned?

an auto tc with a supercharger would only dyno 170 hp. the greddy kit is clearly a better choice.

anyway, you don't really want to make 250 hp because then your auto tranny will start slipping and have trouble shifting and just absolutely hate life, so don't keep pushing for that much hp unless you going to do something like a zpi valve body upgrade.

Uh - it's not that disappointing. I have the GReddy turbo on my Auto tC with full exhaust including S-Pipe and stock I only got 215 WHP. Your numbers aren't that far off from mine.

I DID Get tuned with the Emanage Ultimate - the tune is probably what got me the extra HP.

Do you have a Transmission cooler?

no way, i think those numbers are WAY TO LOW, def something wrong there, u should AT least be dynoing at 230whp i believe...make sure it is boosting at 8 psi, and find out whats going with the tune.....

yeah, the Greddy kit is only supposed to add about 60whp to the auto transmission so that's about right!

dont suppose they were able to run a baseline dyno run? I doubt it, but possibly ...
I say your numbers are about right.

those numbers seem about right for an auto. the tune could also make a little bit of a difference for what youre pushing

He doesn't mention the type of dyno, he doesn't mention a baseline, he doesn't even mention the conditions or if it was tuned or not.

If it was a dynojet, then yea, it's low and probably untuned or badly tuned

If it was a dynapack, it's probably fairly accurate and he's been tuned.

If it was a mustang, it's reading high and he should be thrilled his little choo-choo chugged that hard and toss an extra 20 to his tuner.

But those are only possibilities. Since there isn't any concrete information, that's all you'll get.

It was a Dynojet I had regular emanage regular option one I do have a trani cooler from B&M. I am pushing 8.5 PSI. I dont think they did a tune. I was there and watched the whole thing. They only did a dyno. The dealer said the emanage was pretuned. I didnt do a base line because he would have charged me a extra 200.

Those numbers sound about right man! We lose a lot more than the 5spds unfortunately but Id be happy with a consistent 201 and 218 to the wheels. Go out there and kick some a$$!

Have you seen the pre-tuned map that's loaded on greddy's emanage for their turbo tC? It's pig rich adding up to 40% fuel all over the map. The fuel correction map is there to garantee that you can drive the car to take it to a tuner -that's it. Some folks stay with the base map, it's your choice. Get the car tuned and you will get slightly better numbers -but you are not going to see 250whp...unless you are pushing 10-11PSI

Exactly - i'm peaking 9psi and settling down to 6.5-7 and i'm getting 221WHP on a Dyno Dynamics dyno.

Once I get my GReddy MAP sensor in and retuned, I should be higher. The only person I know that's over 250WHP with her auto tC and the GReddy kit has Meth injection and a very aggressive tune at 10PSI. She's hitting 260 WHP.

5.8 PSI
Stock Block
Dezod bolt on kit
227whp

You should be seeing 215-230 whp with a bolt on kit and a tune with the auto.

psi doesnt equal HP. Varying turbo sizes put out different HP .

your numbers are "low"? get it tuned and see the difference. you cant expect a basemap to run the same on every car and provide the same HP. btw, upgrade to emanage ultimate while you're at it if you're serious about getting tuned the right way.

like someone said above you, "TUNING IS THE KEY".

i personally dont think the automatic transmission is a factor of limiting HP anymore when it comes to turbo. The auto trans takes HP, yes, but it doesnt take a huge chunk out of it. I know my car isnt the tC, but I've made more power than Greddy turbo'd RSX type-S's.

Thread starter, get tuned. If you dont like the HP, turn up the boost while you're getting tuned and see the HP rise.
