k
so i went on craigslist and found someone selling a bov for only 150.
i followed the instructions best i could and it looks great!
but its not working right.
when i floor it and then shift, nothing happens. you cant really hear anything. i think my vacuum line has a leak or something
it only goes whoosh and not WHOOSH
good right up i hope they sticky this

It seems to work for me. Hum. Do you have its spring loosened all the way up? I think thats your problem.

hmm just tried it right now. it seems that it gets louder when im goin 40+.
however in the lower speed likes 20 or 30, it doesnt get much of a sound.
guess ill have to "blow" everyone away on the highways

did this on my buddies civic this afternoon sounds great i might add really adds a nice hiccup sorta duck call to the alrady gnarly vtec sounds.. quite the instll tho hope to have pics up by thursday when this is added to the tech section

Ah excellent.


OlaHalo- Im glad its working for you now. You just need to do a few more tweeks and it will work like a charm. I feel I should put this also in the drive train and power section. Im sure some of them would love to have this knowledge.

naturally you wouldnt hear the big whoosh.. there is nothing wrong with your vacuum line, BOVs are not designed to open at vacuum, if it does open.. very very little and you hear a soft whistle.. but if you can replace the spring with really soft one, that might make it louder a bit

finally a DIY for this. I have been wanting to do this forever. But I am gonna wait til i get headers and exhaust so it really sounds mean.
