Default do i really need the extras

well I'm going s/c, not going with trd reflash going with aem f/ic now I was going to get a wideband boost gauge nd oil pressure gauge but I'm thinking do I really need the wideband or oil pressure gauge? I'm gonna get the boost gauge for bragging rights lol but do I need the wideband to get my car tuned cuz I'm gonna have a laptop hooked up to my f/ic to tune it and I'm wondering if I can get away without the wideband cuz than I can save more $ I was thinking this because I see other s/c people without widebands but since I'm going with the f/ic would it be better to put a wideband ? thanks

you will need a wideband air/fuel gauge. If you dont get one you're just asking for a problem.

Wow just wow. Your going to be that guy that comes back here in 2 weeks saying "My car is putting white smoke out, what do I do??"
What bragging rights are you going after a whopping 7psi? WOAH Check you out. My car can hit about 10.2ish. Nothing that fancy there w/ my supercharger.
Bah worst idea ever.

Going cheap is where you have the problems. You have seen it multiple times on the site. Just get the AEM especially since you aren't doing the reflash. Look around, people on here are sometimes selling it, so it doesn't hurt to look.

wow I knew I shouldn't have asked this question on here I figured it was dumb I think I have enough f/I knowledge where I shoulda known that I need the wideband I think its just bc I'm in such a rush to get my s/c in...I know I need to monitor everything thanks for the responses guys well most of them....as for my bragging rights I want it for when people get into my car they say "ooo what's that?" as I said after it lol and considering you scolding me for a 'whopping 7 pounds" and kinda sounds like your bragging about your 10.5 pounds considering that's not really that much to some f/I cars now considering I respected u as someone who had a lot of knowledge about the s/c nd who has made some very good threads about it I hope that your comment was more in joking terms than seriousness cuz then I will retract my seriousness as well and for the white smoke I would go to my father the real mechanic

yea I'm just going to get it I was just wondering if I could get away without it considering that other people don't have one with the s/c but since I am going with a different tune I'm thinking I am going to need it

i think alot of people that dont have it aren't modifying it from stock. Given the issues that have come up with the s/c on tC's, I would use all the monitoring I could just to be safe.

if your gonna pick between a boost gauge and a wideband, definitely go with the wideband. like kikcaffeine said, you wont be running any higher then 7 psi unless you change out the pulley. you'll be lucky to even get 7psi with the stock bpv. and the whole "bragging" idea with the boost gauge seems silly to me..passing them up will do more bragging for you then a little boost gauge would

first of all, unless your having a shop tune it, you CAN'T tune without a wideband. I mean, the whole point in tuning is getting your AFRs right, and if you dont' have anything telling you what the AFRs are, what are you tuing? The AEM F/IC does not have a built in wideband to monitor that, only a boost sensor.

Now, if you go to a shop, they will have a wideband on their dyno that they will hook up and tune, and you MIGHT be alright after that, but you might as well get the AFR gauge, along with an oil pressure due tot eh notorisue oil loss of the SC
