Default Ebay turbo questions

I have a few questions for those guys who have turbos. what is the difference between a ebay turbo and a greddy turbo? are you just payiing for the name or are you gonna get the same performance? i want to go with a turbo kit but i want it to be a reliable one cause my tc is a daily driver.

If you want reliable. Then don't get parts off ebay.

I haven't personally had an EBay turbo, but I have heard the seals tend to go bad.

You don't know if eBay turbos are new or rebuilt... don't know who manufactured 'em... I talked to a civic owner who bought one of those kits.... turbo was blown in 2 weeks... save your money and go with name brand.

I dont own a turbo, but if I had the money to get one I'd certainly stay away from the ebay kits. If youre doing a modification that major, I would think you'd want reliable.

Ya stay away from ebay if your spending that much money. Your gonna spend alot more down the road. Also, dont bother with Greddy. Get either Dezod, Treadstone, Turbonetics, or TurboToyotas

As everyone else has stated "You get what your pay for" in this world. And yes you are paying more for the name, because what comes with that name is a promise to deliver and if something does go down the pooper in the future the company you purchase from is bound to help out or replace whatever has faulted. Whereas the eBayer is laughing all the way to the bank in his turbonetics charged tC.

I dont know anything about turbos, but like everyone else, you get what you pay for. The name is popular because its backed by a reputation of meeting or exceeding expectations. Of course there are companies out there making products equally as reliable and for less cost but you get a guarantee when you buy from a dealer or from the manufacturer. When you buy ebay you get whatever guarantee he posts in the auction.
