Default ETD traction bars for Scion TC

Hi guys and girls, first of all let me say that this is just an idea and if anyone that has more knowledge on this topic please chime in.
So a lot of us turbocharged/supercharged scion owners know that one of our biggest enemies, performance-wise, is traction. I believe someone has mentioned it before but i think it would be a great idea for a company such as EDT to make some traction bars for us. If there is enough interest im sure a vendor here can work with EDT to come up with something that will work for us. Here is a link to a traction bar they make for older civics/crxs
http://www.etdracing.com/store/produ...products_id=68
One of the best advantages of traction bars is that they can be used in a daily driver that sees some track action on the weekend, this is really big because other traction improvements such as slicks cannot be left on the car after a visit to the drag strip, unless its not your daily driver. So there it is, please support the cause to make our cars faster

Ive been doing some research and they seem to improve 0-60 times in a big way. If you look up on honda-tech most of the high hp cars are running one. The bars are bolted on the frame in front of the tires and they connect to the control arms, and what it does it keeps the wheels from lurching back under hard acceleration to help prevent weight transfer to the rear. They also help eliminate wheel hop and tighten up the front suspension. Actually muscle cars have been using them for a long time but their design is quite different since they are rwd. Anyways here is a link with a really good pic and some info, but the best reading on them can be found at hondatech

Uh i wish i could but i dont have means to make/create one. This thread is just to spark interest in this topic since a lot of other high powered fwd cars are running them too. Hopefully if there is enough interest here we can get one of our vendors/scion supporters to work along with a company such as ETD or Full-Racing to design one. In the event that no vendor supports the idea i guess we could write to these companies to see if they could develop one.

i remember this idea being tossed around a while back on here. basically, traction bars are supposed to help prevent the front wheels from going toe in on a launch. from what i remember, the engine support beam that runs front to back would get in the way and thats why nobody makes them for the tc.

If you look at the ones they make for the newer civics they attach different because of clearance issues, I'm sure with a bit of R&D they could engineer something that would work for us.
Thanks for not bashing the idea guys, maybe we can get someone like Paul dezod in here to give his input.
Question for anyone that knows, there is a few shop TCs that run good times in the 1/4 mile, more likely than not they are using custom traction bars, does anyone know if they do. What I'm getting at maybe a company could use their design to mass produce them for us.

i just tore apart a 91 accord, and was so confused by bars in the front because it looked like another sway bar. But then my friend told me they were traction bars. i don't know how it would work with the TC though because not only would we have clearance issues, we don't really have a spot to bolt the bars at either.

Maybe the traditional design wouldn't work, I'm not sure I can't remember what our front bottom looks like, but it doesn't mean its impossible. If anyone has a pic of the front end from under the car please post so we can discuss this better

That sure does make me think. I wonder why Paul or Mr C haven't started on this, or maybe they already have a way to combat this and figured it would be obsolete and/or waste of time. I'm intrested in their inputs. However the problem isn't the traction bars itself its time and money.

Its no different than kikcaffine and (sorry forgot his name who refabed the s/c shafts) with the S/C upgrades. Someone finally said enough is enough and refabed the shaft and did the research for upgraded bearings. It took lots of time, money, research and trial and error to make these parts. None the less I'm sure it can be done but who wants to or even has time for this project?

Zpi made something like That wayyy back when.
it bolted the block to the frame so it was like a hard motor mount. They r rare now I've only seen 2 up for sale in the last few years
