i am s/c Auto also, my best time was a 15.32 but after running a few time, consecutivly without proper cool down time, the heat gets to the trans (even with the cooler) and my times suffer to mid to high 15s

i have never had my t/b stick so i dont know if that would effect times, i wouldnt think so, as long as it was getting stuck while at WOT...but if it were getting stuck while closed or in any position other then position, then i would say yes. less air to the s/c would definilty hinder performance.

Also, about the CEL, i dont think that having the light will effect anything, but if you have the code on for a legit reason, stock header, then yes, it would hinder performance, i had to go and get stock header replaced b/c the pre-cat got clogged.

BTW, what other mods do you have done and what is your best time, j/w

Thanks
Dan

The CEL will put your car into limp mode, making you constantly run rich.

In the tC the CEL shouldn't put the car into limp mode until it starts flashing.
The point of the CEL in our car is to alert the operator of a problem serious enough to warrant a trip to the dealer (anything from a gas cap to O2 sensor or Cat failure), the point of the flashing CEL/limp mode is to alert the operator that serious damage is imminant and the car is protecting itself from further damage by giving you enough power to get safely out of the flow of traffic.

Solid = drive it to a dealer asap.
Flash = get it towed immediately.

...I just dropped my tC off for a solid CEL, drove fine with it for the last two days.

^ who ever told you that is wrong. When the light comes on the car starts dumping more fuel (for the p0420) because it thinks the car is running lean. It tries to overcorrect for this by adding fuel.

The service guy at the dealer said it. Perhaps I mis interpreted the information... in the three CELs I've had with this car the two I had where it went into limp mode were when I blew off the charge pipe and had a massive vacuum leak. The CEL was flashing both times.
The last, most recent, CEL was for a stuck VSV that was creating excessive vacuum. The car drove fine and the dealer said "if the lights not flashing just drive it in" ... at this point I'll assume that he said that because I told him other than the CEL the car felt fine.

(that said, I have a great relationship with this particular service guy and I trust his opinion/diagnosis)
