Default Finally got my 10 second pass!!! 10.9 @132.49 UPDATE 10.8 !

Went to the track this past Sunday! Import Face Off at Lebanon Valley NY.
Its been a long and difficult journey but i finally reached what i have been working at. Car is making good power and spins hard in 1st gear. Next is working on the 60ft down and I'll be trying for 10.5! Got to thank Paul at Dezod for all his help and support and also for all those phone calls buggin him about stuff lol. Tom, Mike, and Donald as well.....thanks guys for always helping me with questions i had. Im not on here as often but this month i should be back at the track working on traction. I will keep you posted. Thanks again.

***** UPDATE*******

I went back to the track with 26x8.5x15 slicks and got my 60ft down to a 1.68 which gave me a 10.8 @123.8mph. <--- with a bad headgasket
before the pass. 10.5 in her all day!!!

Good to know. Going to (hopefully) install my turbo kit it a few weeks. Since I'll probably have less than half the power you're putting down, I think it should hold up.

Congrats man definitely excited for you. What have you done for weight reduction? And did you change anything since your last pass when you went 11.1?

yea a few things. BC 272 cams, changed fuel to MS109, fabricated my own rear suspension braces so the car wouldn't squat and keep the front down. as far as weight i took out all seats besides driver, removed all rear interior panels, seat belts, brackets, and spare tire. but the reduction was done last year before the 11.1 pass. So now basically what i am battling is getting it to hook better off the line and get the 60ft down. car makes enough power to get a 10.5 - 10.6 pass. i was building 13-14psi off the line and then my tuner lowered it to only have 10psi on the 2step but we ran out of time and they wouldnt let me get 1 more pass. Im still dragging the stock heavy 17's in the rear and the slicks are mounted on 15x7's. im looking to get 15x8's and rear skinnies to help me out. gotta save some money for those lol

Getting into 10's is like getting your driver's license or losing your virginity. It's just amazing. It's feeling you'll never get back, but can always reminisce. 10's were a couple years ago for me, so that feeling is gone, but I do know it was amazing at the time. When you take a 15 second car and put everything you have into it to shave 5 seconds is something to be proud of. Nice job man.

P.S. - Your car is rakin' like a motherf.cker with them flat slicks and no rear suspension. Some more stability in the rear will help you out a great deal.

Thanks i really appreciate it. the last time at the track the car had a bad head gasket and i ran 10.8 and a low 123mph because of the head gasket. but that pass was also the first time i tried 26x8.5x15 slicks and i got my 60ft down to a 1.6 so i know the car has a 10.5 in it. i also made some rear braces for the rear suspension not to squat. i would like to see a 1.5 60ft. making other improvements over this winter for more power and hopefully get as low into the 10's as possible.

hey sry its been so dead here I have checked in, But this week I will putting her back together. last past I did last season i had a coolant issue pushing back into the overflow. and that on my 10.8 pass. so now I am replacing my headgasket and upgrading my arp's to 2000's. im also swapping my descendant turbo manifold for a Dezod Alpha V2 manifold and going to a Tial 44mm wastegate from my current 38mm, with a hood exit. I was using MS109 fuel but now going with C85. My tuner tells me with the fuel swap and better turbo manifold and hood exit we should see 600whp on his mustang dyno. if i didn't had the coolant issue the last pass i kno i could have seen a 10.5 pass that day with my 1.6 60ft. so if my 60ft stays the same or better my goal is 10.2 to 10.3 this next track time. hopefully by the end of the season i will be going for a 9.9 pass!
