I finally ran into an issue.
The car is shooting white (im pretty sure its white not blue) smoke out of the exhaust
and also shooting it out of the valve cover breather thing.
If i pull the dipstick while the car is running, the white smoke comes out of the dipstick hole.
Also, My coolant level went down about 1 inch since yesterday, so im assuming that Im burning coolant.
Sounds like a Head Gasket issue?
Any and all suggestions are welcome and wanted

rings, blowby or something else is what im worried about

 

mine did that when my piston rings went out.

 

so you had white smoke AND your coolant levels dropped?
if so, its time for that good ol motor build

 

Blown head gasket no big deal? I'd say that depends on how it blows. Have you checked the oil on the dipstick? Does it look normal or kinda like chocolate milk? If the latter, then water has mixed with the oil and there will be a lot more damage if continuing to run. Maybe you got lucky and the gasket blew such that the water isn't contaminating the oil, I certainly hope that's the case for your sake.

 

your rings are shot bud. white smoke coming out of the dipstick is a tell tale sign of blow by aka blown piston rings. do a compression check and post the readings but nore than likely your in for a motor build

no, the oil from the dipstick looks normal
however on the valve cover hole, when the smoke comes out a little oil will come out too, and its milky.
but the oil on the dipstick looks perfectly normal, and my oil level is fine.
im planning on doing a compression test soon.

 

compession check first.. if it reads ok then most likely your HG is toast which is not a big deal

sucks... i ran into a problem on sunday as well that put me into short block core purchase and building motor by ERL.

 

time to get build! but yeah compression test first but for now stop driving the car unless you got it figured out.. to me its like piston rings or HG

sorta lol

cars been sitting for 2 months
still havent got a compression test
i put the car back to stock (keeping the turbo though) and ill be doing a compression test asap.

BTW when i drained my oil it looked perfectly normal

 

well thats a good sign atleast...lol
